Golden Glory was a Muay Thai, kickboxing and mixed martial arts camp and management team, based in the Netherlands. Description Golden Glory was founded in 1999 by Bas Boon, and Frederico Lapenda. Golden Glory's professional MMA and kickboxing roster included Semmy Schilt, Gilbert Yvel, Ilonka Elmont, Ramon Dekkers, Alistair Overeem, Marloes Coenen, Sergei Kharitonov, Gokhan Saki, Errol Zimmerman, Jon Olav Einemo, Ashwin Balrak, Nieky Holzken, Chalid Arrab, Bas Rutten and Alexandru Lungu who have fought in promotions such as K-1, Shooto, K-1 HERO'S, Pancrase, PRIDE FC, DREAM, Strikeforce, and the UFC. The founders of Golden Glory also founded the World Vale Tudo Championships, a tournament which featured champions the likes of Oleg Taktarov, Mark Kerr, Pedro Rizzo, and Marco Ruas. Sherdog
Sherdog is an American website devoted to the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA). It also has many forums and discussion pages on the many topics of MMA like records, promotions, etc. The site is a member of the CraveOnline network and provides MMA related content for ESPN.com. Muay Thai ( th, มวยไทย, , ), sometimes referred to as Thai boxing, is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs", as it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees and shins. Men's Judo Alexandru Lungu (born 3 September 1974) is a Romanian professional mixed martial artist, kickboxer and judoka. Lungu has most recently competed in the Super Heavyweight division of MMA. Chalid "Die Faust" Arrab (born May 28, 1975) is a German- Moroccan kickboxer and mixed martial artist. He trains at Team Golden Glory in Breda under Cor Hemmers. Biography and career Arrab's amateur boxing record of 34 Wins and 31 KOs out of 37 bouts has earned him the nickname "Die Faust" ("The Fist" in German). Nicolaas Hubertus Holzken (born December 16, 1983) is a Dutch super middleweight kickboxer and professional boxer currently signed to ONE Championship, where he competes in the Lightweight division. He is the former Glory Welterweight Champion. In 2015 Kickboxing Planet voted him the Kickboxer of the Year. As of November 2021, Combat Press ranks him as the #5 welterweight kickboxer in the world. Ashwin Balrak (born 17 May 1975) is a Surinamese-Dutch professional kickboxer and lawyer. Career and recent arrest Balrak was a former WPKL European Kickboxing champion who also competed in K-1. He made his K-1 debut in 2007 at K-1 Fighting Network Romania 2007 against Patrice Quarteron. John-Olav Einemo (born 10 December 1975) is a Norwegian retired mixed martial artist. He is also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, with the highlight of his career being the win in the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship in 2003 (88–98 kg weight class). Errol Zimmerman (born April 20, 1986) is a Curaçaoan-Dutch kickboxer, representing the Hemmers Gym in Breda, Netherlands. He is K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Amsterdam and SUPERKOMBAT Fight Club tournaments champion. Ramon Dekkers
Ramon Dekkers (4 September 1969 – 27 February 2013) was a Dutch kickboxer and an eight-time Muay Thai world champion. Dekkers was a favourite with fight fans due to his fast-paced, aggressive fighting style. Dekkers was also renowned for his willingness to go abroad to fight the Thai champions in their own country.
