Gold Over America Tour
The Gold Over America Tour, also referred to as Athleta Presents Gold Over America Tour, was a gymnastics tour headlined by Simone Biles. Background In late 2019 Simone Biles announced her plans to launch a post-Olympic all-woman tour that would be a mixture of sports and entertainment intended to inspire the next generation of female athletes. UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi was the first cast member announced that would join the tour. The tour featured exhibitions in 35 cities and had been described as a "gymnastics-meets-pop-concert spectacular". Numerous high-profile gymnasts joined the tour, including 2020 Olympians Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Grace McCallum, and MyKayla Skinner and fan-favorites Morgan Hurd, Laurie Hernandez, and Chellsie Memmel. The 38th World Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia from 21 to 27 November 2005. The 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships was held in Lima, Peru, in September, 2018. Three gymnastics disciplines were contested: artistic gymnastics (from September 11 to 16), rhythmic gymnastics (from September 26 to 30) and trampoline (from September 5 to 9). The event was organized by the Peruvian Gymnastics Federation under the supervision of the Pan American Gymnastics Union and the International Gymnastics Federation, and served as qualification for the 2019 Pan American Games, which were also held in Lima, Peru. Shilese Jones
Shilese Jones (born July 26, 2002) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the teams that won gold at the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2022 World Championships and the 2018 Pan American Gymnastics Championships, 2018 Pan American Championships. Individually she is the 2022 World all-around silver medalist, as well as the 2022 World uneven bars silver medalist. Early life Jones was born in Seattle, Washington (state), Washington to parents Sylvester Jones and Latrice Bryant. She has two sisters. Gymnastics career Junior 2014–15 Jones qualified to junior elite in 2014. She made her elite debut at the American Classic where she finished 29th in the all-around but fourth on vault. The 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships was the forty-seventh edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The competition was held from October 2–8, 2017, at the Montreal Olympic Stadium, Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The event marked the first time since 2003 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2003 that the Championships had been held in North America. Nia Dennis
Nia Camille Dennis (born February 23, 1999) is a retired American collegiate artistic gymnast. She was a member of the USA National Team from 2012–16. She is the 2014 Pacific Rim team champion and junior all-around and vault silver medalist. She was a member of the UCLA Bruins women's gymnastics team. Gymnastics career Career beginnings 2010–12 Dennis competed at the 2010 Covergirl Classic in the 10-11 Hopes Division, where she placed second. In 2011 Dennis qualified to Junior International Elite status. She qualified to the Covergirl Classic in the Junior division. She finished 21st of 36 participants, with a score of 50.450 and therefore did not advance to the National Championships. Mélanie Johanna de Jesus dos Santos (born 5 March 2000) is a French artistic gymnast. She is the 2019 European all-around champion, a two time European champion on the floor exercise (2018, 2019), and the 2021 European champion on the balance beam. She is also the 2018 European silver medalist with the French team, the 2019 European silver medalist on the balance beam, and the 2017 European bronze medalist in the all-around.
