''Going Places'' (stylized as ''!!Going Places!!'') is the fifth album by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. It was originally released by A&M Records in 1965 and has appeared in many formats. Background The group's title reverted to its original name for this album; its second, third and fourth albums had been released as Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass. While the first four Tijuana Brass albums were recorded by Alpert backed by studio musicians, demands for live appearances dictated that Alpert assemble an actual touring band. The songs on ''Going Places'' are a mixture of sessions featuring Alpert's touring band and those with other session musicians, according to the liner notes in the Shout!Factory CD release. The single version of "Tijuana Taxi" features more of the bicycle-horn sound effects than does the album version. ''Goin' Places'' is the twelfth studio album by the Jacksons. It would be the last Jacksons' album released as a joint venture between Epic Records and Philadelphia International Records. ''Goin' Places'' peaked at No. 63 on the ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart in the United States, and at No. 11 on the US Soul Albums chart. The album sold over half a million copies worldwide. A concert tour to promote the album, named the Goin' Places Tour, ran from January to May 1978. Release ''Goin' Places'' was released on October 18, 1977, on Epic Records. It was the group's 13th album, and would be the last Jacksons' album released as a joint venture between Epic Records and Philadelphia International Records. By 1978, the Jacksons would record primarily with Epic and would return to mainstream success with their next album, ''Destiny''. ''Goin' Places'' is the tenth album by the American folk music group The Kingston Trio, released in 1961 (see 1961 in music). It peaked at number three on the Billboard charts and spent 41 weeks in the Top 40. The lead-off single was "You're Gonna Miss Me" (a new arrangement of " Frankie and Johnny") which failed to chart. Crabb Revival
Crabb Revival is a Contemporary Christian music group. Career Crabb Revival was formed by brother and sister, Adam and Terah Crabb, after the disbandment of The Crabb Family in 2007. The other members, Zach Smith and Micah Schweinsberg, were part of the Crabb Family band, while the final member, Jedidiah Richardson, is Adam and Terah's cousin. The band was signed to Daywind Records in February 2008 and they released their debut album, ''Runaway Train'', on May 30, 2008. The album was critically acclaimed and received a Dove Award nomination. In 2008, Zach's wife, Amanda, joined the band as a vocalist. The band then participated on Daywind's '' Live at Oak Tree'' series, releasing their second CD/DVD on March 31, 2009. ''Going Places'' is an album by experimental music band Yellow Swans, released on March 2, 2010, by Type Records. It is the final album by the band, recorded and released after the band's 2008 breakup. Recording According to the band member Gabriel Mindel Saloman, Yellow Swans felt exhausted after constant touring and the tour-record-tour cycle. To avoid conflicts and stay friends the band decided to break up. The members made a list of things they need to do beforehand, of which making the final album ended up being a top priority. They spent a year working on it, recording it in live single takes in the basement of the Rotture club in Portland, Oregon. Yellow Swans
Yellow Swans were an American experimental music band from Portland, Oregon. The duo were renowned for their improvisational approach to noise music, creating a unique experience for each live performance. They described their music as "a constantly evolving mass of psychedelic noise that is both physically arresting and psychically liberating". The band consisted of Pete Swanson (vocals, drum machine, electronics) and Gabriel Mindel Saloman (guitar, feedback, electronics). The band announced their split in April 2008. Mervyn Edward Griffin Jr. (July 6, 1925 – August 12, 2007) was an American television show host and media mogul. He began his career as a radio and big band singer, later appearing in film and on Broadway. From 1965 to 1986 he hosted his own talk show, ''The Merv Griffin Show''. He also created the game shows ''Jeopardy!'' and ''Wheel of Fortune'' through his production companies, Merv Griffin Enterprises and Merv Griffin Entertainment.
