Goenda Tatar is a fictional detective character created by Bengali novelist Sasthipada Chattopadhyay. Chattopadhyay wrote a number of stories of ''Goenda Tatar'' series. Characters Tatar is an adventurous school going kid who love to solve mysteries with his two friends, Shanku and Debu. A little orphan girl Sonai, and her pet dog Dogar and monkey Malini accompany them very often. Bohemian and daredevil Youngman ''Sentu da'' (Brother Sentu) sometimes helps and leads them. Tatar has a sister named Tinku. Sasthipada Chattopadhyay
Sasthipada Chattopadhyay (born 9 March 1941) is an Indian novelist and short story writer in Bengali language, Bengali. He is well known in Bengali literature for the series stories of Pandab Goenda. Career Chattopadhyay was born in 1941 in Khurut, Sasthitala, Howrah district. He published his first literary work ''Kamakhya Bhraman'' in ''Dainik Basumati'' in 1961 and started working in ''Anandabazar Patrika'' under guidance of Ramapada Chowdhury and Sagarmoy Ghosh. Chattopadhyay worked in ''Rabibasoryo'', Anandabazar from 1961. In the meantime, he joined the Indian Railways, Indian Railway service and became posted at Ghatshila. He wrote many novels, travelogue, short stories but became popular and gained recognition for the creation of ''Pandab Goenda'', an adventure detective series for children.
