Godot (band)
Godot was a synthpop band formed in England in November 1980, by Merseyside musicians Dave Hughes on instruments, and Keith Hartley on vocals and instruments. Hughes and Hartley had relations with the synthpop band Dalek I Love You. The first was a founding member of that band, remaining alongside lead vocalist and guitarist Alan Gill to record their first three singles and the debut album ''Compass Kumpas'', although at the time of the release of the latter disc, he was no longer in Dalek I Love You, working with Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark; Keith Hartley was lead singer and guitarist of Radio Blank, formed by him alongside Alan Gill and David Balfe. Hughes was working with OMD until November 1980 when he quit and, in the same month, formed Godot, alongside Keith Hartley, who, after Radio Blank, was working as fireman. ''Buck Godot'' is the title character in a science fiction/comedy comic book series collected in two volumes (''Buck Godot: Zap Gun for Hire'' and ''Buck Godot: PSmIth'') and assorted comic books, including the eight-issue "Gallimaufry" series, all written and drawn by their creator, Phil Foglio. Publication history The first Buck Godot story appeared in issue #2 (summer 1982) of the anthology comic book ''Just Imagine'', published by Just Imagine Graphix. More Buck Godot stories followed in issues #3 (1982) and #5 (spring 1983). A fourth story written by John J Buckley, Jr. and penciled by Doug Rice, which has never been reprinted, appeared in #8 (winter 1984). In 1986, the three stories by Foglio were colored and compiled along with a new fourth story in ''Buck Godot: Zap Gun for Hire'', a graphic novel published by Starblaze Graphics. It was initially developed by Argentine software developers Juan Linietsky and Ariel Manzur for several companies in Latin America prior to its public release. The Boring Company (TBC) is an American infrastructure and tunnel construction services company founded by Elon Musk. Its ongoing and proposed projects are designed for intra-city ("loop") transit systems. After six years TBC has completed one out of six publicly announced projects. The only operational one is situated inside the Las Vegas convention center (LVCC) and operates on limited days for loop travel during conventions. It connects the LVCC West Hall to the existing campus over a stretch of 1.7 miles with an average speed of 30mph in non-autonomous regular Tesla 3 cars that are steered by an driver, despite promised to have 150mph average speeds and autonomous "sleek custom pods".
