He is said to have left due to delving into misanthropy, instead of generally leaving, as Darkthrone never had touring stress and he didn't leave prior because of the swift change from death metal to black metal, like other former member Dag Nilsen did. The band maintains that Zephyrous went into a forest and never returned. However, in a 2006 interview with the German website Voices From The Dark Side, Nocturno Culto claims he still has contact with Zephyrous and would like him to join the band as a guest on a few songs at some point. Very little information about Zephyrous is ...

Satyricon (band)
Satyricon is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1991. Satyr and Frost have been the band's core members since 1993. The band's first three albums typify the Norwegian black metal style. Since its fourth album in 1999, the band has strayed from this style and included elements of traditional heavy metal in their sound. Satyricon was the first Norwegian black metal band to join a multi-national record label (EMI). History The band were formed in 1990 as EczemaPowaviolenza: by the bassist Wargod and drummer Exhurtum. In 1991, they decided to start playing black metal and change the band name to Satyricon. Satyr (Sigurd Wongraven) then joined the band. After the first demo ''All Evil'', Exhurtum was kicked out of the band because he "preferred hanging out with my girl at the time rather than kicking down gravestones together with the band", while Wargod left the music scene and became a UN soldier afterwards. Remaining members Satyr and Lemarchand hired the drummer ...

Pitch Shift
Pitch shifting is a sound recording technique in which the original pitch of a sound is raised or lowered. Effects units that raise or lower pitch by a pre-designated musical interval ( transposition) are called pitch shifters. Pitch and time shifting The simplest methods are used to increase pitch and reduce durations or, conversely, reduce pitch and increase duration. This can be done by replaying a sound waveform at a different speed than it was recorded. It could be accomplished on an early reel-to-reel tape recorder by changing the diameter of the capstan or using a different motor. As for vinyl records, placing a finger on the turntable to give friction will retard it, while giving it a "spin" can advance it. As technologies improved, motor speed and pitch control could be achieved electronically by servo drive system circuits. Pitch shifter and harmonizer A pitch shifter is a sound effects unit that raises or lowers the pitch of an audio signal by a preset interv ...

A Blaze In The Northern Sky
''A Blaze in the Northern Sky'' is the second studio album by Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was recorded at Creative Studios in August 1991 and released on 26 February 1992 by Peaceville Records. It contained the band's first black metal recordings and is considered a classic within the genre. It was the first album of what fans dub the "Unholy Trinity", the other albums being ''Under a Funeral Moon'' and ''Transilvanian Hunger''. It was the last album to feature bassist Dag Nilsen. Background Darkthrone's first album, 1991's ''Soulside Journey'', was a Swedish-styled death metal release. After recording ''Soulside Journey'', the band began writing songs with more black metal traits. This yielded the instrumental demo '' Goatlord''. After recording ''Goatlord'', three of the band members—Fenriz, Nocturno Culto and Zephyrous—decided that they wanted to focus on making black metal music. Bassist Nilsen disliked this shift in direction, and quit the band. Howeve ...
