Go Too
''Go Too'' (1977) is Go's third album. Go was founded by Stomu Yamashta, Steve Winwood and Michael Shrieve. For this album, Jess Roden replaced Steve Winwood (who had left the group). The style of the music became modified accordingly. In addition, Linda Lewis was hired as a singer. Together with Paul Jackson, Jr. and the orchestra of Martyn Ford the album unified various soundscapes. The album begins with the song ''Prelude'', a synthesizer tune that is marked by Klaus Schulze's play. This is followed by ''Seen You Before'', a jazz-funk-fusion piece of music with a remarkable solo by Al Di Meola. The next piece, ''Madness'' is a funk tune that crossfades at the end with the sound of waves onto the romantic song ''Mystery of Love. '' The tune is dominated by Al Di Meolas moving guitar solos and the emotional vocals of Roden and Lewis. ''Wheels of Fortune'' is characterized by complex rhythms and almost pure jazz, while ''Beauty'' again strikes a romantic note. The album ends ... Martyn Ford
Martyn Ford (born 28 April 1944) is an English musician, best known for his orchestral contributions to rock music albums of the 1970s and 1980s. Born in Rugby, Warwickshire,Lebanon, Ford was originally classically trained; he studied French horn at the Royal Academy of Music. While in his senior year there, he formed his own orchestra, which debuted at the Royal Albert Hall a few months after he graduated. He then found work as an arranger and conductor for releases by Caravan, Barclay James Harvest, Bryan Ferry, Ginger Baker, Johnny Nash, Three Man Army, Japan and Elton John, as well as for the soundtrack for the film ''Tommy''. He also played horn for the Spencer Davis Group early in the decade. He also recorded on his own as the Martyn Ford Orchestra; his 1976 album ''Smoovin'' featured Mike Moran, Ann Odell, Simon Phillips, Morris Pert, John Gustafson and Mel Collins. Paul Jerome Jackson Jr. (March 28, 1947 – March 18, 2021) was an American jazz electric bassist and composer. He was a founding member of the Headhunters and played on several of Herbie Hancock's albums, including ''Head Hunters'' and ''Thrust''. Jackson subsequently moved to Japan and started a voluntary concert called Jazz for Kids, with the intent of familiarizing students there with African-American history.
