Gloucestershire Warriors RLFC are a rugby league team from the county of Gloucestershire in England. They play in the Conference League South and in 2006 made their debut in the Challenge Cup. History ''Cheltenham Warriors'' were formed in 1997 and took part in the second season of the Rugby League Conference. They played at the Prince of Wales Stadium in Cheltenham, chosen as the venue for the inaugural Grand Final of the conference. Warriors won the Central Division in their second season in 1999. In 2000, the club moved to a new home at Chosen Hill Former Pupils RFC and changed its name to the ''Gloucestershire Warriors'' to reflect the fact that it was attracting players from throughout the county. In 2005, the club won the South West Division defeating Somerset Vikings in the final and reached the RLC Regional final; losing to Wetherby Bulldogs. Somerset Vikings
Somerset Vikings RLFC are a rugby league team from the county of Somerset in England. They play in the West of England Rugby League. The team play at Hornets RFC Weston-super-Mare. On a full artificial pitch. In 2004/5 the Vikings became a club subject to a formal constitution and is now run by a committee of five officials elected at the annual general meeting in September assisted by two ''ex officio'' members. The club has never finished lower than 3rd in the league and were winners in 2004. The club have a number of sponsors made up of businesses in the Somerset area. Midlands Junior League
The Midlands Junior League is an age group rugby league development competition for clubs in the English Midlands. It is run by the Midlands Rugby League. Many of the teams taking part also run open-age sides in the Rugby League Conference or Midlands Rugby League. History The adult ''Midlands Merit League'' was founded in late 2005 to support the growth of rugby league in non-heartland areas. The 2007 season saw the introduction of an informal under-15 league ''Midlands Junior League'' based on Merit League principles. In 2008 the junior competition featured under-14 and under-16 divisions. The adult Midlands Merit League later evolved into the Midlands Rugby League and the RL Merit League (for clubs in the North of England). Swindon St George
Swindon St George are a rugby league team playing in the West of England Rugby League. The kit consists of black and red shirts with black shorts and socks. History ''Swindon Bulldogs'' rugby league club existed from the 1980s until 1995. They played in the Midlands and South West Amateur Rugby League Association (MASWARLA) and the London League. Former Bulldogs players got together to form the committee of a new club, ''Swindon St George'', in late 2007. Swindon joined the West Midlands Division of the Rugby League Conference in 2008. The South West Rugby League (SWRL) also known as the ''South West Men's League'', is a rugby league competition for teams in the South West of England. It was formerly part of the Rugby League Conference. The SWRL is a semi-autonomous league with a five-member committee under an Rugby Football League (RFL) appointed chairman. The SWRL has five member clubs from Devon and Cornwall. History The Rugby League Conference was founded in 1997 as the ''Southern Conference'', a 10-team pilot league for teams in the South of England and the English Midlands. Elmbridge Eagles
Elmbridge Eagles RL are a rugby league club from Elmbridge in Surrey. They were one of the founding members of the Rugby League Conference as Kingston. History In 1978, schoolboys at Ambleside Middle School in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey were introduced to the game by a teacher. The boys really took to it and began to play matches against other schools in 1979. An early claim to fame came in September 1980 when the boys were invited to take part in a curtain raiser at Craven Cottage when Fulham RLFC took on Wigan in their first ever fixture. They also became the first school team from the South of England to win a game in Yorkshire. Graham Belbin, long serving coach at Elmbridge was involved in that first curtain raiser game for Ambleside. However, when the boys transferred to the local senior school, the PE teacher there wouldn't allow them to play. Edinburgh Eagles are a rugby league team based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The club plays in the Scottish National League and North East Rugby League. The club was founded in 1998. The ''Eagles'' have won the Scottish title a record 10 times. Home games have been played at a number of grounds including ''Corstophine RFC'' and ''Broughton RFC'' they currently play at Royal High School. History The Edinburgh Eagles club was founded in February 1998 and were admitted to the Scottish National League that same year, finishing a very creditable runner-up after losing out to Border Raiders in the final 14–40. The Midlands Rugby League Premier Division is the highest level of amateur rugby league in the English Midlands. It was previously the Midlands Premier Division of the Rugby League Conference. Many of the clubs run juniors in the Midlands Junior League. History The Rugby League Conference was born in 1997, then known as the Southern Conference. The Premier Division were set up in 2005 for teams who had achieved a certain playing standard and were able to travel further afield to find stronger opposition. The new Premier Divisions included the North Premier, the South Premier, the Central Premier and the Welsh Premier. The Central Premier had two Midlands clubs Telford Raiders and Nottingham Outlaws and the rest of the clubs were from Yorkshire or Lancashire. Moorends-Thorne Marauders RLFC
Moorends-Thorne Marauders RLFC is a rugby league club based in Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire. They play in the Yorkshire Premier of the Rugby League Conference during the summer and in the Premier Division of the CMS Yorkshire league during the winter. They also have an A_team in the Yorkshire & Humber Merit League. Two cultures come together In 2003 the amateur game in the North East of Doncaster was dying slowly, a few ex-Moorends ARLFC players and committee men got together to form Thorne Moor Marauders to play in the RLC. In preparation for the 2004 season, they targeted local soccer and rugby union players and soon had a squad of over 40 players training - including 7 Moorends and 2 Doncaster Toll Bar amateur players.
