Midlands Junior League
The Midlands Junior League is an age group rugby league development competition for clubs in the English Midlands. It is run by the Midlands Rugby League. Many of the teams taking part also run open-age sides in the Rugby League Conference or Midlands Rugby League. History The adult ''Midlands Merit League'' was founded in late 2005 to support the growth of rugby league in non-heartland areas. The 2007 season saw the introduction of an informal under-15 league ''Midlands Junior League'' based on Merit League principles. In 2008 the junior competition featured under-14 and under-16 divisions. The adult Midlands Merit League later evolved into the Midlands Rugby League and the RL Merit League (for clubs in the North of England). Midlands clubs voted against clubs outside the Midlands being included for the 2010 season. Midlands Rugby League Premier Division
The Midlands Rugby League Premier Division is the highest level of amateur rugby league in the English Midlands. It was previously the Midlands Premier Division of the Rugby League Conference. Many of the clubs run juniors in the Midlands Junior League. History The Rugby League Conference was born in 1997, then known as the Southern Conference. The Premier Division were set up in 2005 for teams who had achieved a certain playing standard and were able to travel further afield to find stronger opposition. The new Premier Divisions included the North Premier, the South Premier, the Central Premier and the Welsh Premier. The Central Premier had two Midlands clubs Telford Raiders and Nottingham Outlaws and the rest of the clubs were from Yorkshire or Lancashire. Northampton Demons
Northampton Demons is a rugby league club based in Duston, Northampton. They play in the RFL Midlands Rugby League Men's South Division. History Background - Nene Valley and Northampton Knights ''Nene Valley'' were set up in 1989 and they trained twice weekly at Rushden Sports Centre. The club joined the Midlands and South West Amateur Rugby League Association (MASWARLA) and the Eastern Counties Rugby League (ECRL). Nene Valley became ''Northampton Knights''. In September 1994 Northampton Knights team entered the National Conference League Division 2 having finished mid-table in the old East Midlands League. The team was coached by Paul Johnstone. The club started off playing at Dallington Park but moved to the then council-owned Sixfields Stadium. The club played 21 games from its fixture list of 22 but lost them all. Junior Rugby League In England
Rugby league is played at a school level in many schools in the rugby league heartlands of the traditional counties of Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumberland; recently it has been introduced into some schools outside the traditional areas in particular in London, Essex and Hertfordshire. Thirty-three percent of schools across the UK offer rugby league as a school sport. Charlie Bray is the youth league representative on the Community Board. Young People's Advisory Panel The RFL launched the Young Peoples Advisory Panel in 2010, a group consisting of young people aged 16–25 from across England. Gloucestershire All Golds
Gloucestershire All Golds is a rugby league team based at the University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. University of Gloucestershire All Golds consists of six different teams, with the first team entering Kingstone Press Championship 1 for the 2013 season and exiting it to join the Southern League in 2017. Below the semi-professional side, there are two student teams that compete in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues; the All Golds in the Super 8 national league and the All Blues in the Wales and West Division. Leamington Royals
Leamington Royals are a rugby league team based in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England. They play in the Midlands Rugby League Division Two. History Leamington Royals were formed in 2009. The club were accepted into the Midlands Rugby League for the 2009 season. The first ever league fixture was played on 10 May 2009 against Birmingham Bulldogs with Birmingham winning 42 - 32. The Royals recorded their first victory Four weeks later against Leicester Phoenix. The club went on to play a further seven fixtures in 2009 finishing 3rd overall and reached the play-off semi-finals. Telford Raiders
Telford Raiders ARLFC are a rugby league club based in the town of Telford in Shropshire, England. Their first team plays in the Midlands Regional division of the Rugby League Conference and they have a development team in the Midlands Rugby League as well as an active junior development program. History of rugby league in Telford Rugby league has been played in the Telford area for many years with varying degrees of success. The Telford All Blacks played for several years in the North West Counties leagues at both senior and youth levels but for a number of reasons they became unable to continue and folded. Derby City RLFC
Derby City RLFC are an amateur rugby league club based in Derby, England. They were founded in 1990 and currently compete in the Midlands Rugby League Premier Division. They have been ground sharing with Ilkeston RUFC at The Stute since 2014. History ''Derby City RLFC'' were founded in 1990 in the Blessington Carriage pub, Derby.
