Glenrowan Football Club
G The Glenrowan Football Club was formed in 1905, when they played a match against Greta. The club spent most of its time in the Benalla & District Football League (1946 - 1991) and the Ovens & King Football League (1992 - 2019), when it folded after the 2019 season, due to a lack of players, off field officials, active past players and volunteers. History Glenrowan's first documented match was against Winton in 1894, at Winton. In 1910, Glenrowan wore red, blue and white vertical stripe football jumpers. Glenrowan won the first grand final against Greta South FC, but as Greta South has won the minor premiership, they had the right to challenge Glenrowan in another match for the premiership, in which Greta South won. Glenrowan joined the Ovens & King Football League in 1992 and played there until 2019. Three past players of Glenrowan have been awarded an Order of Australia award. The Ovens & King Football Netball League is a minor country Australian rules football league based in North-Eastern Victoria in the vicinity of Wangaratta and more recently Benalla. History The ''Ovens & King Football League'' was formed on the 13th of June 1903, after a handful of men met at The Bulls Head Hotel in Wangaratta to consider forming a football competition. One week later, the first matches of the Ovens & King Football Association were played. The competition changed its name to the Ovens and King Football League after the 1928 season. Today, more than 100 years later, teams from Benalla, Bright, Greta, King Valley, Milawa, Moyhu, North Wangaratta, Tarrawingee and Whorouly participate in seniors, reserves and five netball grades. Brendan Fevola
Brendan Fevola (born 20 January 1981) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played with the Carlton and Brisbane Lions football clubs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Fevola is regarded as one of the most effective full-forwards to have played AFL in the 2000s, having won the Coleman Medal for league leading goalkicker in 2006 and 2009 (kicking 84 and 86 goals, respectively) as well as All-Australian selection as a forward three times since 2006. Nathan Carroll
Nathan Carroll (born 20 October 1980) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne in the Australian Football League (AFL). Carroll was recruited to the Fremantle Football Club from Claremont in the 2000 Rookie draft and stayed on the rookie list for one season (2000) before being delisted. A defender, he was selected by Melbourne in the 2003 Rookie Draft and he made his AFL debut that season. After playing only eleven games in his first two seasons, 2005 loomed as an important year for Carroll. He made his way into the team late in the season, before an injury in the Round 18 loss to St Kilda sidelined him for two weeks. He was recalled for the last three games of Melbourne's season. He underwent surgery on his shoulder at the end of the 2005 season. In 2006, Carroll was a much improved player and played all 24 games in easily his best season to date. The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club.
