Karl Norman
Karl Norman (born 30 May 1983) is an Australian rules football player, who formerly played in the Australian Football League. From Wangaratta, Norman played his junior football for the Greta Football Club in the Ovens & King Football League & Wangaratta Rovers Football Club, Wangaratta Rovers in the Ovens & Murray Football League. In 2001 Norman won the Glenrowan Football Club senior Best and Fairest in the Ovens & King Football League, before crossing back over to the Wangaratta Rovers. In 2002, as a 19-year-old, Norman finished equal second in the Wangaratta Rovers club best-and-fairest. His performance during the season caught the attention of recruiters at the Carlton Football Club, and Carlton recruited him to the Australian Football League with its sixth round selection in the 2002 AFL Draft, 2002 AFL National Draft (#79 overall), despite having never played TAC Cup football. Wangaratta Rovers Football Club
The Wangaratta Rovers, officially known as the Wangaratta Rovers Football & Netball Club, is an Australian rules football club based in Wangaratta, Victoria and play in the Ovens & Murray Football League. Their nickname is the Hawks. Their home ground is W.J. Findlay Oval in Wangaratta. Their playing guernsey consists of gold and brown stripes on the front and gold on the back. The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston, Victoria, Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Mooroopna is a rural town located north of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is on the banks of the Goulburn River opposite the larger town of Shepparton. The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. The Mooroopna Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Cats'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the rural town of Mooroopna, Victoria. Former club journeyman Jake Whitford was banned from the club at the beginning of the 2014 season after sparking a brawl with future AFL star Clayton Oliver. Whitford would leave Australia in disgrace and would go on to hold an administrative position at the Multiplex Bulls of the now defunct AFL Middle East The club teams currently compete in the Goulburn Valley League, which Mooroopna is a founding member. Ovens & Murray Football League
The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The name comes from the Ovens River, the river in the part of north-eastern Victoria covered by the league, and the Murray River, which separates Victoria and New South Wales. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 18s. In the netball competition, there are four grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade and Under 16s. Currently a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played.
