Glenn Moody
Glenn Moody (born 19 June 1964 in Middlesbrough) is a former English professional darts player. Career Glenn had tried to qualify for the Lakeside nine times before finding success in the 2008 BDO World Darts Championship. He has been described as a "geek" by the press but he is received warmly by the crowds. His catchphrase "Whazza!" on throwing the double has resounded across the Lakeside since he won his first match there. He beat Niels de Ruiter, the number sixteen seed, in the first round of the championship by three sets to one. He had a 76.80 average compared to de Ruiter's 74.04 average. This saw him through to the second round where he played Welshman and #1 seed Mark Webster. Webster was the eventual victor, winning by four sets to one. Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. Mark Webster (darts Player)
Mark Webster (born 12 August 1983) is a Welsh former professional darts player. Nicknamed Webby and The Spider, he played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Webster began his career on the British Darts Organisation (BDO) circuit, winning the BDO World Championship in 2008. He became a full-time professional in 2009, having previously been a fully qualified registered plumber. He now works as an analyst and commentator on Sky Sports and ITV. Darts career Webster made progress once he was aged 12 and could play in Local Darts Leagues in public houses in his native North Wales. Erwin Extercatte (born 16 April 1981 in Delden, Overijssel) is a Dutch former darts player who competed for the Professional Darts Corporation. Career Extercatte showed great promise in his first two years in the PDC, winning the Open Oust Nederland in 2004, followed by the 2005 Open Holland. He made his televised debut when he played at the 2006 PDC World Darts Championship, defeating Darren Webster in the first round but lost in the second round to Gary Welding. Extercatte got through to the 2008 PDC World Darts Championship. Starting at the preliminary round, he defeated Alan Bolton of New Zealand 5-0 before beating Colin Osborne in the first round. The 2008 PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts was the second staging of the darts tournament, the Grand Slam of Darts organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The event took place from 15 to 23 November 2008 at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall, Wolverhampton, England. As with 2007, the tournament included players from both the PDC and BDO organisations. Phil Taylor successfully defended the title after defeating Terry Jenkins 18–9 in the final. Bobby George
Robert Francis George (born 16 December 1945) is an English television presenter and former professional darts player. He is widely recognised as one of the game's biggest personalities, known for his flamboyant entrances in which the "King of Darts" makes his way to the stage bedecked in jewellery, wearing a crown and cloak and holding a candelabra to the Queen song 'We Are the Champions'. George won several leading major darts tournaments, he won the News of the World Darts Championship twice and appeared in two BDO Darts World Championship finals and was the first full-time exhibition player. Niels de Ruiter (born January 21, 1983 in Lelystad, Flevoland) is a former Dutch darts player and former chairman of the Dutch Darts Federation. Career On the darts circuit his nickname is The Excellent Dude, which is a reference from the film ''Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure''. He is also known for using Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' as his walk-on music, which he plays air guitar as he enters the stage.
