Glenn Adamson
Glenn Adamson (born 1972) is an American curator, author, and historian whose research and work focuses on the intersections of design, craft, and contemporary art. Adamson is currently editor-at-large of The Magazine Antiques, editor of Journal of Modern Craft, a freelance writer and a curator. Adamson has held previous notable appointments as the Director of the Museum of Arts and Design, Head of Research at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and as Curator at the Chipstone Foundation. Personal life Glenn Adamson was born in 1972 and raised in Boston, Massachusetts along with his identical twin brother Peter Adamson. Glenn Adamson earned his B.A. in History of Art from Cornell University in 1994 and his PhD in Art History from Yale University in 2001. Adamson is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. Brackets
A bracket is either of two tall fore- or back-facing punctuation marks commonly used to isolate a segment of text or data from its surroundings. Valerie Cassel Oliver
Valerie Cassel Oliver is curator of modern and contemporary art at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA). Previously she was senior curator at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (CAMH) in Texas. Cassel's work is often focused on representation, inclusivity and highlighting artists of different social and cultural backgrounds. Early life Oliver grew up in Houston, then attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduate school at Howard University. She also holds an EMBA degree from Columbia Business School. Career Oliver was a program specialist in charge of administrating grants for National Endowment for the Arts from 1988 to 1995. Stephen Burks (designer)
Stephen Burks (born 1969) is an American designer and a professor of architecture at Columbia University. Burks is known for his collaborations with artisans as well as incorporating craft and weaving into product design. He is the first African American to win the National Design Award for product design. Early life and education Burks was born in Chicago in 1969. He studied architecture and product design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture. Career Burks first founded his personal studio in New York in 1997, then called ''Readymade''. Museum Of Contemporary Craft
The Museum of Contemporary Craft based in Portland, Oregon was the oldest continuously-running craft institution on the west coast of the United States until its closing in 2016. Located in downtown Portland's Pearl District, the museum's mission was "to enliven and expand the understanding of craft and the museum experience."
