Glenlyon is a small village in the Shire of Hepburn local government area, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia around 10 km from Daylesford along the Daylesford–Malmsbury Road, and around 101 km from the Melbourne Central business district, CBD via Kyneton and Malmsbury. It is on the Loddon River. Glenlyon is well known for its main street of old European trees lending an "Englishness" to the village and providing a cooling canopy in the heat of summer. As at the 2016 Commonwealth Census, the village of Glenlyon & its immediate hinterland (the census district includes the localities/hamlets of Denver, Porcupine Ridge, parts of Wheatsheaf) had a population of 389 people. Daylesford is a spa town located in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, within the Shire of Hepburn, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia, approximately 108 kilometres north-west of Melbourne. Malmsbury, Victoria
Malmsbury is a town in central Victoria, Australia on the Old Calder Highway (C794), 95 km north-west of the state capital, Melbourne and 11 km north-west of Kyneton. Situated close by the Coliban River, Malmsbury has a population of 1,101. Malmsbury is in the north western area of the Shire of Macedon Ranges local government area. Shire Of Hepburn
The Shire of Hepburn is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the central part of the state. It covers an area of and, in the 2021 Census the shire had a population of 16,604. It includes the towns of Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford, Hepburn Springs and Trentham and the villages of Glenlyon, Allendale, Kingston, Leonard's Hill, Lyonville, Newlyn, Denver and Smeaton. It was formed in 1995 from the amalgamation of the Shire of Creswick, Shire of Daylesford and Glenlyon and parts of the Shire of Kyneton and Shire of Talbot and Clunes. Loddon River
The Loddon River, an inland river of the northcentral catchment, part of the Murray-Darling basin, is located in the lower Riverina bioregion and Central Highlands and Loddon Mallee regions of the Australian state of Victoria. The headwaters of the Loddon River rise on the northern slopes of the Great Dividing Range east of Daylesford and descend to flow north into the Little Murray River, near Swan Hill. The river is impounded by the Cairn Curran (147,000 ML) and Laanecoorie (12,000 ML) reservoirs. Glenlyon
Glen Lyon ( gd, Gleann Lìomhann) is a glen in the Perth and Kinross region of Scotland. It is the longest enclosed glen in Scotland and runs for from Loch Lyon in the west to the village of Fortingall in the east. This glen was also known as ''An Crom Ghleann'' ("The Bent Glen"). The land given over to the MacGregors was gd, An Tòiseachd.
