Glauco-class Submarine
The ''Glauco'' class was a pair of submarines ordered by the Portuguese government, but were taken over and completed for the (Royal Italian Navy) during the 1930s. They played a minor role in the Spanish Civil War of 1936–1939 supporting the Spanish Nationalists. Design and description The ''Glauco''-class submarines were improved versions of the preceding . Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatico ("United Shipbuilders of the Adriatic") was an Italian manufacturer in the sea and air industry which was active from 1930 to 1966. This shipyard is now owned by Fincantieri. History In 1930, Stabilimento Tecnico Triestino based at Trieste merged with another Italian company, the Cantiere Navale Triestino of Monfalcone, forming the ''Cantieri Riuniti dell'Adriatico'' (CRDA). The new company built a number of light cruiser, light and heavy cruisers for the Regia Marina (Royal Italian Navy) between the wars, as well as some 27 submarines. The ocean liner SS Conte di Savoia, ''Conte di Savoia'' was also constructed in 1932. HMS Wishart (D67)
HMS ''Wishart'' (D67) was a Modified W-class destroyer of the British Royal Navy that saw service in World War II. She spent most of her wartime career based at Gibraltar, engaged in convoy defence, but also served in various naval and military operations in the Mediterranean Sea. Construction and commissioning ''Wishart'', the first Royal Navy ship of the name, was ordered in January 1918 as part of the 13th Order of the 1918–1919 Naval Programme, and was laid down on 18 May 1918 by John I.
