Glasgow Underground Recordings
Glasgow Underground Recordings is a house music record label owned by Scottish electronic musician Kevin McKay. The label was created in 1997 and has been home to artists such as Romanthony, DJ Q, Mateo & Matos, Pascal Rioux, Rose Smith, Muzique Tropique, Milton Jackson and DJ Mash. In 2006, McKay set up Prestel Records, which released a number of 12" records, notably by Das Pop, Cobra Dukes and Dada Life. In 2011 he resurrected the label to release a number of compilations and singles. Kevin McKay (musician)
Kevin McKay (born 24 May), is a Scottish DJ, electronic musician, record label owner and record producer now based in London. History McKay studied at The University of Strathclyde from 1989 to 1995. One night in 1991 while DJing at the University's student union he met Andy Carrick. The pair subsequently began collaborating on music together. Three years later McKay secured £2000 of funding from The Princes' Trust to release their music on his Muzique Tropique imprint. McKay continued to DJ in Glasgow throughout the 90s & 00s, holding residencies at clubs like Sub Club, The Tunnel, The Voodoo Room and The Apartment, promoting parties and inviting DJs like Francois Kevorkian, Roger Sanchez & Deep Dish to Glasgow. In 1997, McKay founded Glasgow Underground Recordings. Dada Life
Dada Life are a Swedish DJ duo formed in 2006, which consists of Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom. They have released three albums, a number of singles and remixes and one compilation. The duo had early chart success in Belgium and the Netherlands, while their second album ''The Rules of Dada'' reached the ''Billboard'' 200. They are known for their humour during their live performances, while their name is a homage to the absurdist movement of the early twentieth century. They have released two audio plugins programmed by Tailored Noise: Endless Smile, a drop editor plugin and Sausage Fattener, a saturator. Das Pop
Das Pop was a Belgian band founded in Ghent by school friends Reinhard Vanbergen, Niek Meul, Lieven Moors and Bent Van Looy. Biography Das Pop was initially called Things to Come, but the band changed its name to Das Pop when Tom Kestens joined the band. In 1998, they won Belgium's influential HUMO's Rock Rally contest. Tom Kestens and Lieven Moors later left the band, and in 2007 New Zealander Matt Eccles (formerly drums in Betchadupa) joined the band as the new drummer. In January 2008 Das Pop released "Fool For Love" on UK independent label Prestel Records. The release featured remixes from French DJ SebastiAn and Yuksek, and was called a "monumental new single from the Belgian electro band" in the Culture section of UK newspaper ''The Sunday Times''.
