Michael Glancy
Michael M. Glancy (February 11, 1950 – August 29, 2020) was an American glass and sculpture artist and arts educator. Biography Glancy was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1950. He began working with glass in 1970 and received a BFA from the University of Denver in 1973. In 1977 he earned a second BFA in sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design. Glancy earned an MFA in glass from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1980, where he studied with Dale Chihuly. Glancy was a member of the adjunct Faculty and a Senior Critic in the Jewelry & Metalsmithing Department at the Rhode Island School of Design from 1982 until his death in 2020, where he taught the technique of electroforming. He also served regularly as invited Faculty at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington. Glancy worked for over 20 years with Attleboro, Massachusetts colleague Myles Baer. Diane Glancy
(Helen) Diane Glancy (March 18, 1941) is an American poet, author, and playwright. Life and career Glancy was born in Kansas City, Missouri, to a Cherokee descent (non-enrolled) father, Lewis H. Hall, and an English-German-American mother. At a young age, she had a hard time with determining her identity because of how her Indian lifestyle did not relate to what she was learning in school. Glancy decided to reclaim her Cherokee descent and found it easy to express in her poetry. James Glancy
James Alexander Glancy, (born August 1982) is a British television presenter and conservationist. He formerly served as a member of the Royal Marine Commandos and was a Brexit Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for South West England from 2019 to 2020. Early life and education Glancy was born in Surrey in 1982. Glancy studied history at St Anne's College, Oxford. He was captain of the university's boxing team. He was sponsored through university by the Royal Marines. Military service Glancy served in the Royal Marines and the Special Boat Service (SBS). Bertrand Glancy
Sir Bertrand James Glancy (31 December 1882 – 17 March 1953) was an Irish-born British colonial administrator and Governor of the Punjab between 1941 and 1946. Early life Glancy was born on 31 December 1882 in London, the son of Bertha Glancy (nee Hellmuth) and Colonel Thomas Glancy. He was educated at Clifton and Exeter College, Oxford. In 1905 he joined the Indian Civil Service. Indian Civil Service In 1909 Glancy joined the Indian Civil Service and moved to the Political Department. In 1931, he was appointed by the Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir to head a commission to enquire into the grievances of Muslim subjects of the state. Harry Glancy
Harrison Smith Glancy (September 17, 1904 – September 22, 2002) was an American competition swimmer who represented the United States at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris, France and the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In 1924, he won a gold medal as a member of the winning U.S. team in the men's 4×200-meter freestyle relay, together with teammates Ralph Breyer, Wally O'Connor and Johnny Weissmuller. Glancy and his American teammates set new world records in both the semifinals (9:59.4) and final (9:53.4). Glancy was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an "Honor Pioneer Swimmer" in 1990. Christopher Glancy, C.S.V. (born April 10, 1960) is an American-born bishop of the Catholic Church in Belize. He has been the auxiliary bishop of the Belize City-Belmopan Diocese since 2012.
