Gladys Hay Memorial Cup
The Australian Women's Interstate Teams Matches were an amateur team golf competition for women between the states of Australia. From 1933 it was contested for the Gladys Hay Memorial Cup. The final format was a round-robin tournament, each team playing the other five teams, after which the top two teams play a final. Each team consisted of six players. Five competed in each round-robin contest with all six playing in the final. Only singles matches were played. In 2020 the format for interstate team matches was changed so that the men's and women's event were combined into a single mixed-team event, the Australian Interstate Teams Matches. History The Victorian Ladies' Golf Union was founded in 1906 and in 1907 they organised their first championship meeting, which followed the Australian Golf Union's championship meeting at Royal Melbourne. Royal Hobart Golf Club
The Royal Hobart Golf Club is a golf club in Seven Mile Beach, Tasmania, Australia, near Hobart. It hosted the Australian Open in 1971 when American Jack Nicklaus was the winner. It also hosted the Tasmanian Open (1968, 1976, 1980, 1986, 1991, and 2003), Australian Amateur (1968, 1974, 1987, 1993, 2000, and 2006), and Australian Women's Amateur (1968, 1978, 1990, and 1997). Jason Day in capturing the Australian Amateur Championship winner in 2006 held at the Royal Hobart Golf Club, shot the course record of 64 to break the course record previously held by Jack Nicklaus. On 5 April 2021 the outgoing club pro Simon Hawkes, shot a new course record of 61 which was highlighted by an albatross on the iconic 9th hole. McLeod Country Golf Club
McLeod Country Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course located in Mount Ommaney, Queensland, Mount Ommaney, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was the first golf club in Australia to give women members equal rights to men, and is one of few golf clubs in the world managed entirely by female members. Some years later, it was made known to Hilda Reid and Kathleen Atherton, who were members at Ashgrove Golf Club, that Centenary Estates were offering land for the development of a golf course. Pymble is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Pymble is north of the Sydney Central Business District in the local government area of Ku-ring-gai Council.
