''Give Me a Home Among the Gumtrees'' (or ''Home Among the Gumtrees'') is a popular Australian song written in 1974 by Wally Johnson and Bob Brown (aka Captain Rock). History It was originally performed as a satirical number in Johnson and Brown's comedy act at the Flying Trapeze Cafe in Fitzroy, Melbourne and was first recorded in 1975 on the Captain Rock album ''Buried Treasure'' on Mushroom Records. At that time the Australian Government was running an open competition to find a replacement for ''God Save the Queen'' as Australia's national anthem; the ''Gumtrees'' song was Johnson and Brown's entry. The bands first roadie with the bands nicknamed THE EMU had the cassette tape of capt'rock. and insisted that h.a.t g. was a tune was very well suited to their sound and from the first night it was performed at the Port o Call hotel Coolangatta it was a hit for the band. Steve Irwin
Stephen Robert Irwin (22 February 19624 September 2006), known as "The Crocodile Hunter", was an Australian zookeeper, conservationist, television personality, wildlife educator, and environmentalist. Irwin grew up around crocodiles and other reptiles and was educated regarding them by his father Bob. Mark Alexander Jackson (born 30 August 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club, St Kilda Football Club and Geelong Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and for the South Fremantle Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Known as "Jacko", Jackson's colourful and enigmatic personality often resulted in clashes with officials and teammates, which tended to overshadow the fact that he was also a capable full forward. André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu (; is a Dutch violinist and conductor best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra.
