Giv'ot Olam
Giv'ot Olam ( he, גבעות עולם, , Hills of Eternity) is an Israeli outpost in the northern West Bank. Located 4.5 kilometres south-east of Itamar, it falls under the jurisdiction of Shomron Regional Council. The outpost was established in late 1998 by Avri Ran, a right wing activist and organic farmer who raises free-range chickens and sells their eggs on the organic food market. The outpost's name is taken from Moses' Biblical blessing for Joseph: "with the fruitfulness of the hills of eternity." (Deuteronomy 33:15) The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this. Avri Ran
Avraham "Avri" Ran (born 1955) is an Israeli settler activist and businessman, with a record for repeated criminal offenses against Palestinian people, Palestinians. He has been called the founding father and "undisputed symbol" of the Hilltop Youth movement. His approach to developing Palestinian lands has been described as "environmental racism", combining working the soil, ''terra'' while applying Israeli settler violence, terror. An organic food entrepreneur, he is also a reserve lieutenant/colonel in the IDF. He has been indicted several times, and convicted on four counts, three of assault and one case of aggravated assault. Shomron Regional Council
The Shomron Regional Council ( he, מועצה אזורית שומרון, ''Mo'atza Azorit Shomron'', English ''Samaria Regional Council'') is an Israeli regional council in the northern portion of the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Thirty-five Israeli settlements fall under its jurisdiction. As of December 2020 the jurisdiction area of the council has a population of about 47,200 people. The main offices are located in the Barkan Industrial Park. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this. "a handhold") is an unauthorized or illegal Israeli settlement within the West Bank, constructed without the required authorization from the Israeli government in contravention of Israeli statutes regulating planning and construction. In Israeli law, outposts are distinguished from settlements authorized by the Israeli government. Itamar ( he, אִיתָמָר) is an Israeli settlement located in the West Bank's Samarian mountains, five kilometers southeast of the Palestinian city of Nablus. Free-range
Free range denotes a method of farming husbandry where the animals, for at least part of the day, can roam freely outdoors, rather than being confined in an enclosure for 24 hours each day. On many farms, the outdoors ranging area is fenced, thereby technically making this an enclosure, however, free range systems usually offer the opportunity for the extensive locomotion and sunlight that is otherwise prevented by indoor housing systems.
