Gisela Baur-Nütten
Gisela Baur-Nütten, complete name Gisela Maria Pauline Coelestine Nütten, (12 May 1886 – 10 September 1981) was a German painter and graphic designer of the Düsseldorf school of painting. Life Born in Düsseldorf, Baur-Nütten grew up as the daughter of the Royal Prussian officer Karl (Charles) Eugen Maria Heinrich Nütten (b. 1847 in Saarlouis) and his wife, the writer Anna Nütten, née Startz (b. 1861 in Aachen), daughter of the Kommerzienrat Conrad Alexander Startz, in Düsseldorf and from 1895 in Kleve, where her father, then a retired colonel. D., had acquired as a summer residence the ''Villa Elsa'', built from 1884 onwards, a stately home at Bergstraße 16 with a garden designed by . In the 1900s, she briefly took private lessons with the painter Carl Murdfield. Düsseldorf School Of Painting
The Düsseldorf school of painting is a term referring to a group of painters who taught or studied at the Düsseldorf Academy (now the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf or Düsseldorf State Art Academy) during the 1830s and 1840s, when the Academy was directed by the painter Wilhelm von Schadow. About The work of the Düsseldorf School is characterized by finely detailed yet fanciful landscapes, often with religious or allegorical stories set in the landscapes. Major members of the Düsseldorf School advocated "plein air painting", and tended to use a palette with relatively subdued and even colors. The Düsseldorf School derived from and was a part of the German Romantic movement. Netherlands Institute For Art History
The Netherlands Institute for Art History or RKD (Dutch: RKD-Nederlands Instituut voor Kunstgeschiedenis), previously Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD), is located in The Hague and is home to the largest art history center in the world. The center specializes in documentation, archives, and books on Western art from the late Middle Ages until modern times. All of this is open to the public, and much of it has been digitized and is available on their website. The main goal of the bureau is to collect, categorize, and make art research available, most notably in the field of Dutch Masters. Via the available databases, the visitor can gain insight into archival evidence on the lives of many artists of past centuries. Kleve (; traditional en, Cleves ; nl, Kleef; french: Clèves; es, Cléveris; la, Clivia; Low Rhenish: ''Kleff'') is a town in the Lower Rhine region of northwestern Germany near the Dutch border and the River Rhine.
