Girma Bekele Gebre
Girma Bekele Gebre (; born 29 December 1992) is an Ethiopian marathon runner who finished third at the 2019 New York City Marathon as a non-elite runner. Gebre also won the 2018 Brooklyn Half Marathon, and came third in the 1,500 metres event at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Athletics. Personal life Gebre splits his time between living in New York and Ethiopia. In 2019, he moved back to Ethiopia after the death of one of his brothers. His brother Alemu Bekele competed for Bahrain at the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. Career When in New York, Gebre competes for the West Side Runners, and has won multiple club races. Whilst in Ethiopia, he trains at altitude in Addis Ababa. In 2009, Gebre came third in the 1,500 metres event at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Athletics. ''The Royal Gazette'' is a Bermudian, English-language daily newspaper. Founded in 1828, it is Bermuda's only daily newspaper (not published on Sundays and public holidays). A personal record or personal best (abbreviated to PR or PB) is an individual's best performance in a given sporting discipline. It is most commonly found in athletic sports, such as track and field, other forms of running, swimming (sport), swimming and Olympic weightlifting, weightlifting. The term "PR" came from the world of running, referring to a person's best time in a race of a specific distance. So, if someone runs their first 5K run, 5K race in 28:45, that's their PR for the 5-kilometre distance. Shura Kitata Tola (born 9 June 1996) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in the marathon and half-marathon. He has raced in several World Marathon Majors, including the 2020 London Marathon where he won the race in a time of 2:05:41 beating Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge, and the 2018 London Marathon where he finished in second place behind him. His other best performances include the 2017 Rome Marathon and 2017 Frankfurt Marathon victories, and second places at the 2018 and 2022 New York City Marathon. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Geoffrey Kipsang Kamworor (born 22 November 1992) is a Kenyan professional long-distance runner who competes in cross country, marathon, and half marathon races. He was the 2011 World Junior Cross Country Champion. Kamworor won the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships three times in a row from 2014 to 2018. In the IAAF World Cross Country Championships he won in 2015 and 2017. He won his first World Marathon Major at the 2017 New York City Marathon. Kamworor again won the New York City Marathon in 2019.
