Girly Nobanda
Girly Namhla Nobanda is a South African politician and a former Member of the National Assembly of South Africa for the African National Congress. She was elected in the 2014 general election from the ANC's North West regional-to-national list. Nobanda was a member of the Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises and an alternate member of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Review of Parmed. Nobanda was named to the ANC's North West provincial task team (PTT) following the disbandment of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) in 2018. Nobanda did not stand for re-election in the 2019 general election. North West (National Assembly Of South Africa Constituency)
North West ( tn, Bokone Bophirima) is one of the nine multi-member constituencies of the National Assembly of South Africa, the lower house of the Parliament of South Africa, the national legislature of South Africa. The constituency was established in 1994 when the National Assembly was established by the Interim Constitution following the end of Apartheid. It is conterminous with the province of North West. The constituency currently elects 13 of the 400 members of the National Assembly using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2019 general election it had 1,702,728 registered electors. The African National Congress (ANC) is a Social democracy, social-democratic political party in Republic of South Africa, South Africa. 2014 South African General Election
General elections were held in South Africa on 7 May 2014, to elect a new National Assembly and new provincial legislatures in each province. It was the fifth election held in South Africa under conditions of universal adult suffrage since the end of the apartheid era in 1994, and also the first held since the death of Nelson Mandela. It was also the first time that South African expatriates were allowed to vote in a South African national election. The National Assembly election was won by the African National Congress (ANC), but with a reduced majority of 62.1%, down from 65.9% in the 2009 election. The official opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) increased its share of the vote from 16.7% to 22.2%, while the newly formed Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) obtained 6.4% of the vote. The Provincial Executive Committees (PEC) of the African National Congress (ANC) are the chief executive organs of the party's nine provincial branches. Comprising the so-called Top Five provincial officials and up to 30 additional elected members, each is structured similarly to the ANC's National Executive Committee and is elected every four years at party provincial conferences. General elections were held in South Africa on 8 May 2019 to elect a new President, National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each province. These were the sixth elections held since the end of apartheid in 1994 and determined who would become the next President of South Africa.
