Girls And Boys Home Internationals
The Girls and Boys Home Internationals are an amateur team golf championship for girls and boys, between the four Home Nations. Ireland are represented by the whole island of Ireland.The event is organised by The R&A. The inaugural event was held in 2021 and superseded separate Girls and Boys events. Format The championship is played over three days with the four teams competing against each other in individual matches. Each team has 16 players, 7 girls and 9 boys. A match consists of 7 foursomes (3 girls and 4 boys) and 14 singles (6 girls and 8 boys) each over 18 holes. The result is decided by team results with each team scoring one point for a team win and half a point for a halved match. Ties are resolved by the number of individual matches won. Players must be under 18 at the start of the year in which the event takes place. Lindrick Golf Club
Lindrick Golf Club is a golf course in South Yorkshire and is also a site of special scientific interest (SSSI). The SSSI covers and was designated for its biological interest. The site was notified in 1987. The course is situated on the A57 running between Sheffield and Worksop, Nottinghamshire, and is approximately west of Worksop. The course is affiliated to the Yorkshire Golf Union and, contrary to local folklore, the entire course and clubhouse is situated in Yorkshire. Founded in 1891, the course was originally nine holes, but was extended to 18 holes in 1894. Prior to the enhancements programme started in 2015, the last major changes to the course layout occurred in 1932, to avoid two holes being played over the A57. Conwy Golf Club in Conwy, Wales was officially opened as Caernarfonshire Golf Club in 1890. The links course on the Morfa Conwy peninsula was designed by Jack Morris (nephew of Old Tom Morris). The championship course is long with a par of 72. History In 1869 a nine-hole course was set out by three Scottish gentlemen, which lays its claim to being the first golf course in Wales. A new nine hole course was laid out in 1875, when members of the Royal Liverpool Golf Club commissioned its design by their club professional, Jack Morris. Caernarfonshire Golf Club was formally established at Conwy Guildhall on 30 June 1890. In 1895 the course was extended to 18 holes and the club was a founding member of the Welsh Golfing Union. Woodhall Spa Golf Club is a private golf club in England, that is located to the north of Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire. The club was founded in 1891.
