Girls Home Internationals
The Girls Home Internationals was an amateur team golf championship for girls between the four Home Nations. Ireland was represented by the whole island of Ireland.The event was organised by The R&A. The inaugural event was held in 1969 and the venue cycled between the four nations. The winning team received the Stroyan Cup. Originally it was played immediately before, and at the same venue, as the Girls Amateur Championship. However it was later held as a separate event. In 2021 the match was replaced by a combined Girls and Boys Home Internationals. A match between Scotland and England girls had been played since 1935 while Ireland and Wales had also played earlier matches. Format In its final format, the championship was played over three days with the four teams competing against each other in individual matches. Gullane Golf Club
Gullane ( or ) is a town on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth in East Lothian on the east coast of Scotland. There has been a church in the village since the ninth century. The ruins of the Old Church of St. Andrew built in the twelfth century can still be seen at the western entrance to the village; the church was abandoned after a series of sandstorms made it unusable, and Dirleton Parish Church took its place. Hermitage Golf Club
Hermitage Country Club is a country club and private recreational facility located in Manakin Sabot in eastern Goochland County, Virginia, a suburb of the state capital of Richmond. Founded in 1900 in Richmond, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in Virginia. Construction of the club's first permanent home in the Lakeside section of Henrico County was completed in 1917. The golf course, originally designed by A. W. Tillinghast and remodeled in 1940 by Donald Ross, hosted the PGA Championship in 1949, the first and only time a men's major championship was ever held in the state. Pyle ( cy, Y Pîl) is a village and community (and electoral ward) in Bridgend county borough, Wales. This large village is served by the A48 road, and lies less than one mile from Junction 37 of the M4 motorway, and is therefore only a half-hour journey from the capital city of Wales, Cardiff. Portstewart Golf Club consists of three 18-hole courses situated in the town of Portstewart, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Golf was first played there as far back as 1889. Southerndown Golf Club is a downland/links golf club in the Vale of Glamorgan, in south-east Wales, near the coast and Ogmore-by-Sea and Southerndown, in proximity to Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes.
