Gireesh Puthenchery
Girish Puthenchery (1961–2010) was a noted Malayalam Lyricist, Poet, Scriptwriter and Screenwriter. He was always referred to as the aristocratic lyricist of Malayalam who had a distinctive writing style of his own. He also served as the director of Indian Performance Rights Society Malayalam division (I.P.R.S) and governing council member of the Kerala Kalamandalam and Kerala Lalithakala Academy. He debuted with the movie Enquiry in 1989. He won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist seven times. He also held the record for writing the highest number of songs in the Malayalam film industry within the briefest period of time. He died on 10 February 2010 in a private hospital in Kozhikode. Gireesh Kumar Sanghi
Gireesh Kumar Sanghi (born 8 March 1955) is an industrialist and politician. He was a Member of the Parliament of India for the Indian National Congress party representing Andhra Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Parliament. Sanghi obtained a BA in political science from Osmania University. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in June 2004 and served until June 2010, actively involved in several committees. In February 2015 he left the Congress party and joined the BJP. He is a joint-owner and director of a conglomerate of companies that includes Sanghi Textiles and A.G.A.
