Giovan Battista Bertani
Giovanni Battista Bertani (1516–1576) was an Italian painter and architect of the late Renaissance period. He trained with Giulio Romano in Mantua, and was promoted after Romano's death to the post of prefect of the ducal studio (fabbriche). Painters who assisted him over the years include his brother Domenico, as well as Giovanni Battista del Moro, Geronimo Mazzuola, Paolo Farinato, Domenico Brusasorci, Giulio Campi, and Paolo Veronese. Giulio Campi
Giulio Campi (1502 – 5 March 1572) was an Italian painter and architect. His brothers Vincenzo Campi and Antonio Campi were also renowned painters. Biography The eldest of a family prominent painters, Campi was born at Cremona. His father Galeazzo (1475–1536) taught him the first lessons in art. In 1522, in Mantua, he studied painting, architecture, and modelling under Giulio Romano. He visited Rome, became an ardent student of the antique, and like Bernardino — distantly related to him — he combined a Lombard and Roman traditions. He collaborated on some works with Camillo Boccaccino, the son of Boccaccio Boccaccino, with whom Campi may also have received training. Campi is called the "Ludovico Carracci of Cremona" for his influence, since Campi was as influential during the Renaissance in Cremona as the latter was on the Baroque school of Bologna. Thomas Roscoe
Thomas Roscoe (Liverpool 23 June 1791 – 24 September 1871 London) was an English author and translator. Life The fifth son of William Roscoe, he was born in Toxteth Park, Liverpool in 1791, and educated by Dr. W. Shepherd and by Mr. Lloyd, a private tutor. Soon after his father's financial troubles in 1816, which led to bankruptcy, Roscoe began to write in local magazines and journals, and he continued to follow literature as a profession. Domenico Brusasorci
Domenico Riccio (also known as commonly known as Domenico Brusasorci; 1516–1567) was an Italian painter in a Mannerist style from Verona, best known for frescos. He first apprenticed with his father. Later, he has been reported to have trained with Giovanni Francesco Caroto and Niccolò Giolfino. He was a near contemporary of Antonio Badile. By 1551, he completed the fresco decorations of the ''Municipio'' in Trento. In 1556, he painted a decoration in Palazzo Vescovile at Verona. The Marquisate or Margraviate of Mantua was a margraviate in Lombardy, Northern Italy. Constituted by the Capitani del popol, an administrative title used in Italy during the Middle Ages.
