Giorgos Kefalidis
Giorgos Kefalidis ( gr, Γιώργος Κεφαλίδης; born 21 March 1941) is a Greek former professional footballer who played as defender. His nickname was ''"Ruby"'' as of Jack Ruby, the killer of Lee Harvey Oswald who was the assassin of John F. Kennedy. Club career Kefalidis started his career in his hometown club, at Mega Alexandros Katerinis, before merging with Olympos Katerinis in 1961, and create what would eventually become the big team of the city, Pierikos, competing in the second division. Making excellent performances with the club of Katerini, he helped them get the promotion to the first division in 1962 and he also became an international. In the summer of 1964 he aroused the interest of the Greek giant, AEK Athens. He took the big step in his career at the age of 23 and became a key member of the team, helping mainly at the right end of the defense, but also as a central defender. Katerini
Katerini ( el, Κατερίνη, ''Kateríni'', ) is a city and municipality in northern Greece, the capital city of Pieria regional unit in Central Macedonia, Greece. It lies on the Pierian plain, between Mt. Olympus and the Thermaikos Gulf, at an altitude of 14 m. 1965–66 Greek Football Cup
The 1965–66 Greek Football Cup was the 24th edition of the Greek Football Cup. Foe the second time in three editions, the Cup Final was scratched: AEK Athens were awarded the Cup as the HFF was late to determine a date for the match. Due to Olympiacos having to prepare for the next season's European Cup, the delay meant that Olympiacos would not be able to field a team for the Final. The 1967–68 Alpha Ethniki was the 32nd season of the highest football league of Greece. The season began on 8 October 1967 and ended on 10 June 1968. AEK Athens won their fourth Greek title and their first one in five years. Tryfon Tzanetis
Tryfon Tzanetis () was a Greek international football player and a later manager. He was best known as a great figure for AEK Athens during the 30's and 40's, partnering Kleanthis Maropoulos in AEK's front line. Tzanetis also contributed to AEK by coaching the club during the 50's and 60's. Early life Tzanetis was born in 1918 in Smyrna (today's Izmir), from Naxian parents. After the Asia Minor disaster, his family moved to Athens and installed at the district of Nea Ionia. Club career Tzanetis started playing football in 1932 at Eleftheroupoli. In 1933, AEK Athens scouted him and he signed a sport's card with the club. He started from the youth teams of AEK where he was promoted to the first team in 1935, alongside Maropoulos and participated in an official match. Dimitrios "Mimis" Papaioannou ( el, Δημήτριος "Μίμης" Παπαϊωάννου; born 23 August 1942) is a Greek former professional football player, who played as a forward, mostly for AEK Athens and a former manager. His nickname was "The Vlach" ''(Greek: "ο Βλάχος")'', due to his origin. Throughout his entire career, Papaioannou was never shown a single red card, showing the prudence and integrity of his character. Papaioannou was considered to be the best Greek footballer of his generation and one of the best Greek footballers of all time, being awarded the best Greek footballer of the 20th Century by IFFHS. Greece National Under-21 Football Team
The Greece national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Greece and is controlled by the Hellenic Football Federation, the governing body for football in Greece. The team competes in the European Under-21 Football Championship, held every two years. The under-21 competition rules insist that players must be 21 or under at the start of a two-year competition, so technically it is up to an U-23 competition. To be eligible for the Greece National Team, all the football players must hold Hellenic (Greek) nationality and comply with the provisions of Article 15 of the regulations governing the Application of FIFA Statutes. Branko Stanković
Branko "Stane" Stanković ( sr-Cyrl, Бранко "Стане" Станковић, ; 31 October 1921 – 20 February 2002) was a Bosnian Serb footballer and manager, from Sarajevo. Playing career Club He started his career in SK Slavija Sarajevo, as a youth player in 1936. In 1941 he escaped from Sarajevo and joined Yugoslav pre-war most successful club, BSK Belgrade and played in the Serbian League during the war. In 1946 he came to Red Star Belgrade, where he established himself as one of the best defenders in the Yugoslav First League. Stanković played 195 games, with 14 scored goals.
