Giorgio Bàrberi Squarotti
Giorgio Bàrberi Squarotti (; 14 September 1929 – 9 April 2017) was an Italian academic, literary critic and poet. He taught at the University of Turin from 1967 until his death in 2017. He was considered to be one of the most important literary critics of his time. Biography Giorgio Bàrberi Squarotti was born in 1929 in Turin. He received his PhD in Italian literature from the University of Turin in 1952–1953, with a thesis on Giordano Bruno. He taught Italian literature at the same university from 1967 until his death in 2017, and was a prominent literary critic. He was known for his detailed studies on classical Italian authors such as Dante, Petrarch, Machiavelli, Tasso, Manzoni, Verga and Gozzano, and was also interested in contemporary writers, including D'Annunzio and Svevo. Italo Svevo
Aron Hector Schmitz (19 December 186113 September 1928), better known by the pseudonym Italo Svevo (), was an Italian writer, businessman, novelist, playwright, and short story writer. A close friend of Irish novelist and poet James Joyce, Svevo was considered a pioneer of the psychological novel in Italy and is best known for his classic modernist novel '' La coscienza di Zeno'' (1923), a work that had a profound effect on the movement. He was also the cousin of the Italian academic Steno Tedeschi. Menotti Augusto Serse Lerro (22 February 1980) is an Italian poet, writer, playwright, librettist and academic, born in Omignano, Salerno. His work explores matters of social alienation and existentialism, the physicality and vulnerability of the body, the interpretation of memories, the meaning of objects and the philosophical importance of human identity. Guido Gustavo Gozzano (19 December 1883 – 9 August 1916) was an Italian poet and writer. Biography He was born in Turin, the son of Fausto Gozzano, an engineer, and of Diodata Mautino, the daughter of Senator Mautino, patriot and supporter of Giuseppe Mazzini and Massimo D'Azeglio.
