Giorgio Belloni
Giorgio Belloni (Codogno (Lodi), 1861 – Azzano di Mezzegra (Como), 1944) was an Italian painter. Biography A pupil of Giuseppe Bertini at the Brera Academy, Belloni made his debut in 1879 with two perspective views of interiors. After a stay in Verona, during which he painted his first landscapes en plein air, he settled in Milan, where he established himself as a landscape painter as from 1882. The success achieved in Venice at the Esposizione Nazionale Artistica di Venezia of 1887 made him known beyond the regional borders. He came under the influence of Lombard Naturalism as from the beginning of the 1880s and specialised in seascapes, painted from life during summer stays at Sturla, Noli and Forte dei Marmi but distinguished by a poetic and evocative atmosphere. While continuing to work primarily as a landscape painter, producing large-scale views of the Alpine area and Brianza, he also turned his hand to portraits and still lifes. Giuseppe Bertini
Giuseppe Bertini (1825–1898) was an Italian painter, active in his native Milan. Biography He studied at the Brera Academy under Luigi Sabatelli and Giuseppe Bisi, and in 1845 was awarded the ''Gran premio di pittura dell'Accademia di Brera'' on the strength of a picture of the meeting between ''Dante and Fra Ilario''. He also painted the ''Triumphal entry of the allied sovereigns into Milan after the Battle of Magenta'' (after 1859). He also painted frescoes on a vaulted room of the residence of the Puricelli Guerra, representing the great men of the Middle Ages, backgrounded against perspectives of Gothic architecture. Brera Academy
The Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera ("academy of fine arts of Brera"), also known as the or Brera Academy, is a state-run tertiary public academy of fine arts in Milan, Italy. It shares its history, and its main building, with the Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan's main public museum for art. In 2010 an agreement was signed to move the accademia to a former military barracks, the Caserma Magenta in via Mascheroni. In 2018 it was announced that Caserma Magenta was no longer a viable option, with the former railway yard in Via Farini now under consideration as a potential venue for the campus extension.
