Gina Pellón
Gina Pellón (December 26, 1926 – March 27, 2014) was a Cuban painter who lived in France. She was known for her abstract expressive paintings in strong colours, usually depicting women. She also wrote collections of poems. Life Born in Cumanayagua, Las Villas she graduated from the Academy of San Alejandro in 1954, and taught at the Velado Polytechnic Institute, until 1957. Exile is primarily penal expulsion from one's native country, and secondarily expatriation or prolonged absence from one's homeland under either the compulsion of circumstance or the rigors of some high purpose. Usually persons and peoples suffer exile, but sometimes social entities like institutions (e.g. the papacy or a government) are forced from their homeland.
