Gianni Petrucci
Giovanni Petrucci (said Gianni; born 19 July 1945, in Rome) is an Italian sports director. He is the current President of CONI for the fourth consecutive term, that will end after the Games of the XXX Olympiad of 2012. His career took place primarily between the Italian Football Federation (where he was special commissioner of the Italian Referees Association) and the Italian Basketball Federation (of which he was elected president in two consecutive occasions), before becoming on 29 January 1999, President of CONI, succeeding Bruno Grandi in the position in 1999. On 6 May 2009 has been reelected for his fourth consecutive term: he got 55 votes against 24 of the challenger, Franco Chimenti, president of FederGolf. He was Special Commissioner of the FIGC in 2000 – 2001. The Italian National Olympic Committee ( it, Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano, CONI), founded in 1914 and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is responsible for the development and management of sports activity in Italy. The 2012 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the XXX Olympiad and also known as London 2012) was an international multi-sport event held from 27 July to 12 August 2012 in London, England, United Kingdom. Bruno Grandi
Bruno Grandi (9 May 1934 – 13 September 2019) was an Italian sportsman who served as president of the FIG (Federation Internationale de Gymnastique) from 1996 to 2016 and was a member of the International Olympic Committee from 2000 to 2004. He was also an Italian junior gymnast, but achieved more gymnastics success in a non-performing capacity, rising to become president of the FIG. Biography A native of Forlì, Emilia Romagna, Grandi served as Professor of Physical education at the High Institute of Physical Education in Rome. He was a member of the Italian Artistic Gymnastic Juniors team, national coach of the Italian Men's junior's team and the long-time President of the Italian Gymnastics Federation (1977-2000). He pioneered the use of the 6-3-3 system in team finals which is intended to expand the number of countries who can win medals by making it possible to succeed with a smaller pool of gymnasts. San Felice Circeo
San Felice Circeo is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Latina, in the Lazio region of central Italy. It was an ancient city called Circeii. It is included in the Circeo National Park. Sites include the Grotta Guattari, one of the oldest Neanderthal sites in Italy, in which remains of nine Neanderthals were discovered. Capo Circeo Lighthouse is from the old town. History In the treaty signed between Carthage and Rome in 509 BC, the Carthaginians agreed not to harm Circeii.
