Giacomo Farelli
Giacomo Farelli (1629 in Naples – 26 June 1706) was an Italian painter active in Naples. Biography He trained under Andrea Vaccaro, whose style he at first followed, but he afterwards imitated with more success that of Guido Reni and Luca Giordano. He painted a ''The Fall of the Angels,'' and ''The Ascension'' for the church of Santa Maria Maggiore of Naples. He also painted for the church of Santi Apostoli and the church of the Redenzione dei Cattivi. He also painted for Pietà dei Turchini, Gesù Nuovo, Santi Apostoli and for the Congregation of Sette Dolori in Naples. He returned to Abruzzo, and painted a large fresco in the Palazzo Ducale of ''Jove fights the Giants'' and ''Life of Hercules''. He also painted medallions with portraits of the Ducal family for the Acquaviva family. The House of Acquaviva is an aristocratic Italian family from Naples. The head of the family was Duke of Atri in the Abruzzo from the 15th century, and Count of Conversano after an Orsini family marriage in 1546, among other titles. Atri ( sa, अत्रि) or Attri is a Vedic sage, who is credited with composing numerous hymns to Agni, Indra, and other Vedic deities of Hinduism. Atri is one of the Saptarishi (seven great Vedic sages) in the Hindu tradition, and the one most mentioned in its scripture Rigveda. The fifth Mandala (Book 5) of the Rigveda is called the Atri Mandala in his honour, and the eighty seven hymns in it are attributed to him and his descendants. Atri is also mentioned in the Puranas and the Hindu epics of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Gesù Nuovo ( it, New Jesus) is the name of a church and a square in Naples, Italy. They are located just outside the western boundary of the historic center of the city. Pietà Dei Turchini
The Church of Pietà dei Turchini is a religious building in Naples, Italy. A smaller church, located on Rua Catalana, was built originally in 1592–1595 by the Confraternity of the Incoronatella. This church was nearly destroyed by an explosion in the Castel Nuovo in 1638. It was rebuilt in 1638–1639, and retitled ''Santa Maria Incoronatella della Pietà dei Turchini'' when it acquired a dome. The facade was completed in 1769–70 by Bartolomeo Vecchione.
