Gholamreza Ghodsi (1925 – 11 December 1989) was a belletrist and poet from Mashhad, Iran. Early life and education Ghodsi was born in 1925 in Mashhad, Iran. Mashhad
Mashhad ( fa, مشهد, Mašhad ), also spelled Mashad, is the List of Iranian cities by population, second-most-populous city in Iran, located in the relatively remote north-east of the country about from Tehran. It serves as the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province and has a population of 3,001,184 (2016 census), which includes the areas of Mashhad Taman and Torqabeh. The city has been governed by different ethnic groups over the course of its history. Mashhad was once a major oasis along the ancient Silk Road connecting with Merv to the east. Mehrdad Avesta
Mehrdad Avesta (''Mohammand Reza Rahmani'', fa, مهرداد اوستا; 8 August 1930 – 6 May 1991) was an Iranian poet. He was born in Borujerd (on 8 August 1930) into a literature and art-oriented family. When he was young, he changed his first name from Mohammad Reza to Mehrdad and his family name from Rahmani to Avesta in order to show his passion for ancient Persian culture. Avesta entered the University of Tehran in 1948 and finished his academic studies in same university with a M.A. degree in Philosophy. When he was 25 years old, he started teaching literature, philosophy and history of arts at the University of Tehran. He married two times in 1954 and 1966 and he had one son and three daughters. Ahmad Zahir (Dari/Pashto: ; 14 June 1946 – 14 June 1979) was an Afghan singer, songwriter and composer. Dubbed the "Elvis of Afghanistan", he is widely considered the all-time greatest singer of Afghanistan. The majority of his songs were sung in Dari, and he also sang many songs in Pashto, as well as a few in Russian Urdu and English. Born in Kabul, Zahir recorded at least 14 studio albums before his abrupt death on his 33rd birthday in 1979.
