The Reduviidae are a large cosmopolitan family of the order Hemiptera (true bugs). The Emesinae, or thread-legged bugs, are a subfamily of the Reduviidae (i.e., assassin bugs). They are conspicuously different from the other reduviids by their very slender body form.
