Ghencea
Ghencea is a district of the Romanian capital city Bucharest, in Sector 5. It is home to the famous sports club CSA Steaua București. Nearby districts are Drumul Taberei and Rahova. History Construction of apartment blocks started in the area in 1978 and was completed in 1987. The textile factory ''Tricodava'' and the plastic factory ''Munplast'' were built by the communist regime in the neighborhood. Tricodava was demolished in 2007 and an apartment complex was built on the former location. Transportation The infrastructure of the neighborhood is not very good. There are no subway stations in the area and the only way to get around fast is by using lightrail line 41. Getting around by car, bus or trolleybus can be very time-consuming, especially during rush hours. Living There are no markets in the area but in the morning people come from the nearby village of Domnești and sell fruits and vegetables on the street. Stadionul Steaua (2021)
The Steaua Stadium ( ro, Stadionul Steaua), informally also known as Ghencea, is a multi-purpose stadium in Bucharest, Romania. It primarily serves as the home stadium of FCSB and CSA Steaua București, replacing the former venue. The new stadium cost €95 million and is located in the neighbourhood of Ghencea. It seats 31,254 spectators. Notable events The stadium was inaugurated on 7 July 2021, with a match between Steaua and OFK Beograd, the same team with whom they had inaugurated the previous stadium back in 1974. It ended with a 6-0 win for the home team, with Bogdan Chipirliu being the first player to score in the new stadium. Drumul Taberei
Drumul Taberei (, ''The Camp Road'') is a neighbourhood located in the south-west of Bucharest, Romania, roughly between Timișoara Avenue (south of Plaza România and the Cotroceni Railway Station) and Ghencea Avenue, neighboring Militari to the north, Panduri to the east and Ghencea and Rahova to the south and south-east. It is one of the few examples of successful urban planning during Communist Romania, despite it being built in the Eastern European tradition of "dormitory neighborhoods". This success is mostly due to the unique approach of the architects and planners to the concept of high-density urban living, an approach that was not used elsewhere in Bucharest. Clubul Sportiv al Armatei Steaua București, commonly known as CSA Steaua București () or simply Steaua, is a major multi-sports club based in Bucharest and run by the Ministry of National Defence. Rahova is a neighbourhood of southwest Bucharest, Romania, situated in Sector 5, west of Dâmboviţa River. It is named after the Bulgarian town ''Rahovo'' (today Oryahovo), site of a battle in the Romanian War of Independence. The neighborhood stretches from between Antiaeriană and Drumul Sării Avenues to Panduri Square (in the west), Panduri and 13 Septembrie Streets in the north, George Cosbuc Avenue, Viilor and Sălaj Streets in the east and Bucharest City Limits in the South. BILLA () is an Austrian supermarket chain that operates in Central Europe, Central, Eastern Europe, Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The company was founded by Karl Wlaschek in 1953. He sold his controlling interest to Germany's REWE Group in 1996.
