Getter Robot G
, known as ''Starvengers'' in the United States, is a super robot anime series by Toei Animation based on ''Hundred Demons Empire'' arc of ''Getter Robo'' manga by Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa. This direct sequel to '' Getter Robo'' was broadcast on Fuji TV from May 15, 1975 to March 25, 1976, with a total of 39 episodes (some episodes were rebroadcast, erroneously giving the impression that there were 43 episodes). Mattel's popular Shogun Warriors toy collection included Getter Robo G's robot formations in that toy line: Getter Dragon (Dragun), Getter Liger (Raider), and Getter Poseidon (Poseidon). As a result of the popularity of these toys in the US, Jim Terry included this series in his '' Force Five'' anime lineup under the title of ''Starvengers''. Mecha
In science fiction, or mechs are giant robots or machines controlled by people, typically depicted as humanoid walking vehicles. The term was first used in Japanese (language), Japanese after shortening the English loanword or , but the meaning in Japanese is more inclusive, and or 'giant robot' is the narrower term. Fictional mecha vary greatly in size and shape, but are distinguished from vehicles by their humanoid or Biorobotics, biomorphic appearance, although they are bigger, often much bigger, than human beings. Different Genre#Subgenre, subgenres exist, with varying connotations of realism. The concept of Super Robot and Real Robot are two such examples found in Japanese anime and manga. Ken Ishikawa (manga Artist)
was a Japanese manga artist. He is renowned as the co-creator (with Go Nagai) of the ''Getter Robo'' anime series, as well as four of their subsequent manga continuations. According to Nagai, he considered Ishikawa his greatest friend and ally. Death Ishikawa collapsed at a dinner banquet after golfing; he was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The causes of death was acute heart failure. Influences Kazuki Nakashima, chief editor of the Getter Robo Saga compilation cited Ken Ishikawa as an influence when he worked on the series composition of the anime show, ''Gurren Lagann'', and also gave a memorial address at his funeral. He also calls himself Ken Ishikawa's number one fan. Ishikawa's early art is quite reminiscent of that of his mentor, Go Nagai. Missile

A robot is a machine—especially one programmable by a computer—capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically. Humanoid

Devil

is a Japanese Mecha anime and manga, mecha media franchise created by Ken Ishikawa (manga artist), Ken Ishikawa and Go Nagai. An anime television series produced by Toei Animation was broadcast on Fuji TV from April 4, 1974, to May 8, 1975, with a total of 51 episodes. The manga was serialized in Shogakukan's ''Weekly Shōnen Sunday'' from April 7, 1974, to August 24, 1975, and was compiled in six volumes by Shogakukan and three volumes by Futabasha. Robo Formers
''Robo Formers'' was a series of VHS videos distributed in the 1980s and 1990s. The episodes revolve around the Evil Empire of the Pandamoniums and their attempts to take over the Earth to which the Robo Formers team stands in their way as defenders of the planet. The episodes themselves were taken from the cartoon series '' Starvengers'' which itself was the English title for the Japanese animated series ''Getter Robo G''. ''Starvengers'' was produced by Jim Terry under his Force Five anime series line-up. ''Robo Formers'' was a redub of ''Starvengers''. One exception was a single episode (see below) of ''Robo Formers'' that was redubbed from ''Gaiking'', another of Jim Terry's ''Force Five'' series. The ''Robo Formers'' videos have no distributor information on the box although FB Productions appears on the inside of the box. The packaging designer is Can-Vision.
