Get Over It!
Get Over It! is the robotics competition event for the 2010-11 FIRST Tech Challenge. Two teams compete to score points by depositing colored batons in various types of goals. The name of the game refers to the many obstacles that traverse the middle of the field, which include a mountain, two bridges, and two ramps (which are also goals). Rules Alliances The competing robots are organized into two alliances, Red and Blue. Each alliance is made up of two different teams, with one robot per team, who work together to score against the other alliance. Field The field is twelve feet long by twelve feet wide. Alliance stations are on opposite sides There are two zones, one for the Blue Alliance and another for the Red Alliance. Edward Jones Dome
The Dome at America's Center is a multi-purpose stadium used for concerts, major conventions, and sporting events in Downtown St. Louis, downtown St. Louis, Missouri, United States. Previously known as the Trans World Dome from 1995 to 2001 and the Edward Jones Dome from 2002 to 2016, it was constructed largely to lure a National Football League (NFL) team back to St. Louis and to serve as a convention space. Hot Shot!
Hot Shot! is the robotics competition event in the 2009-2010 FIRST Tech Challenge. Two teams compete to score points by depositing whiffle balls into designated areas. Game Overview Field Description Hot Shot! is played by four robots on a 12 foot by 12 foot field. Robots are paired together to form red and blue alliances of two teams each. Each alliance starts on a different side of the field, in spots designated by red and blue taped off squares. There are 3 goal areas, the low goal, the high goal, and the off field goal. The low goal and the high goal are centered on the field. The high goal has a pivot bar that allows it to be spun by a robot contacting the spin bar. The off field goal is four feet from the field. There are ball dispensers made out of PVC pipe, full of balls, at each corner of the field. FIRST Tech Challenge
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), formerly known as FIRST Vex Challenge, is a robotics competition for students in grades 7–12 to compete head to head, by designing, building, and programming a robot to compete in an alliance format against other teams. FIRST Tech Challenge is the one of the four major robotics programs organized by ''FIRST'', which its other three programs include FIRST Lego League Explore, FIRST Lego League Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. The competition consists of local and regional qualifiers and the world championship, the FIRST Championship, and in every season, a kickoff is held to showcase the season's theme and game. After kickoff, robots are designed, built, and programmed by teams, and teams are encouraged to conduct outreach with their communities. FIRST Championship
The FIRST Championship is a four-day robotics championship held annually in April at which FIRST student robotics teams compete. For several years, the event was held at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, but moved to the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri in 2011, where it remained through 2017. In 2017, the Championship was split into two events, being additionally held at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. In 2018 and 2019, the Championship was held in Houston and Detroit, Michigan at the TCF Center and Ford Field.
