Get Guilty
''Get Guilty'' is A.C. Newman's second solo album, released on January 20, 2009, on Matador Records/Last Gang Records. The album was recorded during the summer of 2008 at Brooklyn's Seaside Lounge and produced by Newman and Phil Palazzolo. The first single from the album was "The Palace at 4 AM." The album received favorable reviews upon its 2009 release, and was sometimes described as a natural continuation of Newman's work with The New Pornographers. Guest musicians include Jon Wurster (Superchunk/ The Mountain Goats), Mates of State, and vocalist Nicole Atkins. Carl Newman
Allan Carl Newman (born April 14, 1968) is a Canadian musician and singer–songwriter. He was a member of the indie rock bands Superconductor and Zumpano in the 1990s. Following the breakup of those bands, he reemerged as the leader of the New Pornographers in 2000, a band who have enjoyed both commercial and critical success. In 2004, Newman launched his solo career, performing as A. C. Newman. He has stated that he chose "A. C." for his solo career because "it sounded like a pseudonym, but it's not a pseudonym." Superconductor and Zumpano Newman began his musical career in the 1990s as a member of the Vancouver grunge/pop group Superconductor. A bullfighter (or matador) is a performer in the activity of bullfighting. Nicole Atkins (born October 1, 1978) is an American singer-songwriter. Her influences include 1950s crooner music, 1960s psychedelia, soul music, and the Brill Building style of writing. Atkins has been compared to Roy Orbison and singers from the Brill Building era. Early life Atkins was born in Neptune, New Jersey. Superchunk
Superchunk is an American indie rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States, consisting of singer-guitarist Mac McCaughan, guitarist Jim Wilbur, bassist Laura Ballance, and drummer Jon Wurster. Jonathan Patrick Wurster (born October 31, 1966) is an American drummer and comedy writer. As a musician, he is best known for his work with Superchunk, the Mountain Goats, and Bob Mould. He is also known for appearing on '' The Best Show'' with Tom Scharpling.
