Germany was represented by Nora Nova, with the song "Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne", at the 1964 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 21 March in Copenhagen. "Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne" was the winner of the German national final, held on 27 February. "Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne" held the joint record for the longest ever song title in a Eurovision final alongside C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison which represented France in 1991 until both were succeeded by The Social Network Song (Oh Oh - Uh - Oh Oh) which represented San Marino in 2012. Ahinora Kumanova ( bg, Ахинора Куманова; 8 May 1928 – 9 February 2022), better known by the stage name of Nora Nova, was a Bulgarian and German singer. She was the first Bulgarian to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in , although she then represented . itself first participated only in 2005. Her father was an official of Tsar Boris III of Bulgaria and she reported that she was raised a monarchist. After the regime change in the end of World War II, some of her relatives were sent to the Belene concentration camp or sentenced to death by the People's Court. In 1959, Ahinora left Communist Bulgaria by contracting a marriage in name only with a German national. After she came to West Germany in 1960, she won a singing contest called ("The Great Chance") organized by Electrola, a West German recording company. René Kollo
René Kollo (born 20 November 1937) is a German operatic tenor, especially known for his Wagnerian Heldentenor roles. He also performed a wide variety of operas and operettas, and made several recordings. Biography Born René Kollodzieyski in Berlin, he grew up in Wyk auf Föhr. He attended a photography school in Hamburg, although he had always been interested in music, particularly conducting. He did not begin to perform (as a self-taught drummer) until the mid-50s. He played in jazz clubs and studied acting with Else Bongers in Berlin. To prepare for musical roles, he studied with Elsa Varena, who quickly recognized that he had an unusual gift. He signed his first recording contract at 20 and recorded popular hits. Gitta Lind (17 April 1925 – 9 November 1974) was a German singer and film actress. Lind was born in Trier as Rita Maria Gracher. During her first employment as a singer she changed her name to Gitta Lind, a tribute to Gitta Alpár and Jenny Lind. The Eurovision Song Contest 1964 was the 9th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest.
