Germantown Township is in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 207 at the 2010 census. Germantown Township was organized in 1874. A large share of the early settlers being natives of Germany caused the name to be selected. Douglas Rudy Magnus (born November 1950) is an American, Minnesota politician and a former member of the Minnesota Senate, who represented District 22, which includes all of Cottonwood, Jackson, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock counties in the southwestern part of the state.
