State Route 71 (SR 71) is a state highway in the northwest part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway runs from Dalton northeast and, then, north, to the Tennessee state line, northeast of Cohutta, where the roadway continues as Tennessee State Route 60. Route description 200px, Route 71 just south of Tennessee Border SR 71 begins at an intersection with US 41/ US 76/ SR 3 in Dalton as the Cleveland Highway. South of the intersection, the roadway continues as North Glenwood Avenue. The route briefly heads north out of the city. It then turns northeast before heading north for the rest of its routing. In Varnell is an intersection with SR 2. About two miles before the Tennessee State Line, the route narrows to two lanes. Dalton, Georgia
Dalton is a city and the county seat of Whitfield County, Georgia, United States. It is also the principal city of the Dalton Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Murray and Whitfield counties. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 33,128 people, with the total metropolitan area having a population of 142,227. Dalton is located just off Interstate 75 in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwest Georgia and is the second-largest city in northwest Georgia, after Rome. Bradley County is a county located in the southeastern portion of the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 108,620, making it the thirteenth most populous county in Tennessee. Its county seat is Cleveland. State Route 2 (SR 2) is a east-west state highway in the far northern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. The highway serves southern suburbs of Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as much of the mountainous area in the northern part of the state. It traverses the counties of Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Gilmer, Fannin, Union, Towns, and Rabun. It connects Flintstone, in the northwestern part of the state, with the South Carolina state line southeast of Clayton in the northern part and the northeastern part of the state. State Route 3 (SR 3) is a state highway that travels south-to-north through portions of the western part of the U.S. state of Georgia, roughly paralleling Interstate 75 (I-75). The highway travels from its southern terminus at the Florida state line, where SR 3 and SR 300 both reach their southern terminus, concurrent with US 19. State Route 60 (SR 60) is a north-south major state route in Eastern Tennessee. It covers and runs from the Tennessee-Georgia state line in Bradley County to Dayton joining US 27. Route description Bradley County SR 60 begins at the Georgia border in Bradley County, heading north on two-lane Dalton Pike, a primary state route. At the state line, the route continues into Whitfield County, Georgia as SR 71 (Cleveland Highway) to Dalton. From the border, SR 60 passes a mix of hilly farmland and woodland as it reaches a junction with SR 317 (Weatherly Switch Road). Northwest Georgia
Northwest Georgia is a region of the state of Georgia in the United States. It includes 12 counties (listed in the section below), which at the 2010 census had a combined population of 753,032.
