Georgia Marie Stanway (born 3 January 1999) is an English professional Association football, footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Frauen-Bundesliga club FC Bayern Munich (women), Bayern Munich and the England women's national football team, England national team. Stanway has also represented England at various youth levels and is widely considered one of the best attacking midfield players of her generation. In 2016, Stanway was nominated for BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and was also nominated for PFA Women's Young Player of the Year in 2017. In June 2018, she was named in the UEFA Women’s Champions League squad of the season. In 2019, she was awarded PFA Women's Young Player of the Year. BBC Young Sports Personality Of The Year
The BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award is presented at the annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year award ceremony. It is awarded to the sportsperson aged 17 or under as of 1 January of that year, who has made the most outstanding contribution to sport in that year. Nominees are generally British. Non-Britons are eligible if they are UK resident, play a significant amount of sport in the United Kingdom, and their core achievements for the year took place in the UK, and were not done with a non-UK national team. All winners to date have been British. Nominations are put forward via Youth Sport Trust, and a judging panel then decides on a ten-person shortlist. The panel later reconvenes to choose the top three, and decides on the winner by secret ballot. The FA Women's National League, formerly WFA National League and FA Women's Premier League (WPL), is a group of six football divisions run by the English Football Association. Founded in 1991 by the Women's Football Association, the League included England's top division from 1991 to 2010. The League now sits at step 3 and 4 of the women's football pyramid (below the FA Women's Super League and the Women's Championship).
