Georgi Naydenov (businessman)
Georgi Ivanov Naydenov ( bg, Георги Иванов Найденов) (born July 19, 1927 – October 3, 1998) was a Bulgarian businessman and banker who was born in the small town of Strelcha, and became famous during the 1960s as the creator of the unique and successful economic experiment Texim. The Economic Group The idea of Texim as an independent organization within the Bulgarian socialist economy originated with a starting capital of 10,000 Leva (1 Dollar at that time was equal to around 1.17 Leva). Yet, although Texim existed for only 8 years from 1962 to 1969, its legendary success has accompanied the name until this day. Eventually, the experiment expanded to comprise three main units: Texim, the Imextracom Establishment, and the Bulgarian Trading Fleet. Strelcha
Strelcha ( bg, Стрелча ) is a small Bulgarian town with a population of 4,284 . The town lies 13 km to the east of Panagyurishte and 41 km to the north of Pazardzhik. It is a capital of homonymous municipality, part of Pazardzhik Province. It is situated in a valley in the southern skirts of the Sredna Gora mountain. The favourable microclimate, nature and mineral water springs, combined with the rich history and natural sights, have turned Strelcha into a national spa resort all around the year. Even if the town's tourism industry has decayed somewhat in the early post-communist period, its tourist product has started to revive in the last couple of years. Arguably, the most important sight in the town is the Bulgarian Orthodox Archangel Michael Church - Monument dedicated to the citizens of Strelcha that were killed during the April Uprising of 1876, Balkan Wars and WW1. Teximbank
Teximbank is the oldest operating private bank in Bulgaria. It was created by Georgi Naydenov, a famous Bulgarian businessman, who created the state-owned economic group Texim in the 1960s and 1970s.
