George Štancl
Jiří Štancl Junior also known as George Štancl (born 19 August 1975 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic) is a former international speedway rider. Career Štancl began his British leagues career with Sheffield Tigers in the 1994 British League Division Two season. He reached three consecutive World Under 21 finals from 1994 to 1996. He rode the majority of his career in the British leagues but did appear three times in the Team Speedway Polish Championship. In 2005, he won the Premier League Pairs Championship partnering Shane Parker for Glasgow Tigers, during the 2005 Premier League speedway season. Allsvenskan (literally, "The National League") is the second tier in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises seven Swedish speedway teams. Until the introduction of the Elitserien in 1982 the Allsvenskan was the highest level of Swedish Speedway. Speedway World Championship
The World Championship of Speedway is an international competition between the highest-ranked motorcycle speedway riders of the world, run under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). The first official championships were held in 1936. Today, this official FIM championship is organised as a series of Speedway Grand Prix events, where points are awarded according to performance in the event and tallied up at the end of each season. However, up to 1994, it was run as a single-night event after qualifying rounds during the season, leading up to a big final of 20 heats, where points were awarded according to riders' heat placings and then tallied up at the end. Jiří Štancl (born 18 November 1949 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Czechoslovakia. Career Štancl reached the final of the Speedway World Championship on nine occasions between 1971 and 1984, finishing a career best 9th in 1982 Individual Speedway World Championship, 1982 in Los Angeles. He won the Czechoslovakian National Championship twelve times, has appeared in the Speedway World Team Cup, World Team Cup finals on seven occasions and in the Speedway World Pairs Championship finals seven times. Štancl won the famed Golden Helmet of Pardubice in 1974, 1976, 1978, 1981 and 1982. Family His son, George Štancl, George, is also a rider. The 2005 Premier League speedway season was the second division of speedway in the United Kingdom and governed by the Speedway Control Board (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). Season summary The League consisted of 15 teams for the 2005 season. Two fixtures, Hull Vikings v Glasgow Tigers and Hull Vikings v King's Lynn Stars, were not ridden due to Hull being evicted from their track. The League was run on a standard format with no play-offs and was won by the Rye House Rockets. Shane Parker (speedway Rider)
Shane Andrew Parker (born 29 April 1970 in Adelaide, South Australia) is a former Australian motorcycle speedway rider and a four time South Australian Champion. Currently he is riding in the Australian season at his home track of Gillman Speedway in Adelaide, and finished second in the 2012/13 South Australian Championship behind reigning champion and Speedway Grand Prix rider, Troy Batchelor. Shane Parker holds one of the unluckiest records in Australian speedway, having been the runner-up in the South Australian title on seven occasions during his career. Parker retired from riding in 2014.
