George Ryall
George Ryall (born 26 September 1958) is an English professional golfer. Ryall was born in Portishead, Somerset and turned professional in 1988. He has won several tournaments on the Gloucester and Somerset PGA Circuit and headed the Order of Merit in both 2006–7 and 2008–9. On turning 50 in 2008 Ryall joined the European Senior Tour, gaining a conditional card at his first attempt at qualifying school. He failed to win sufficient money in his rookie season to retain his playing status, which resulted in limited opportunities in 2010. He made the most of those chances, finishing tied for 5th at the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open in early July which gained him entry to the Van Lanschot Senior Open the following week, where he claimed his first title with a one stroke victory over Andrew Oldcorn. Portishead, Somerset
Portishead () is a coastal village on the Severn Estuary, 8 miles (12 km) to the west of Bristol, but within the unitary authority, unitary district of North Somerset, which falls within the Ceremonial counties of England, ceremonial county of Somerset, England. It has a population of around 25,000, with a growth rate considerably in excess of surrounding towns. Portishead has a long history as a fishing port. The ''Bristol Post'' is a city/regional five-day-a-week (formerly appearing six days per week) newspaper covering news in the city of Bristol, including stories from the whole of Greater Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. PGA Cup
The PGA Cup is a men's golf competition for club professionals played between a Great Britain and Ireland team and a United States team. The winning team is presented with the Llandudno Trophy. The competition is run by the British PGA and the PGA of America. It was first played in 1973 and was an annual event until 1984, after which it became biennial. The 2022 event was held at the Foxhills Golf Club in Surrey, England, the second time that the course had been chosen to host the event. Andrew Oldcorn
Andrew Oldcorn (born 31 March 1960) is a Scottish professional golfer. Oldcorn was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England. He was raised in Edinburgh, and represents Scotland. He represented England as an amateur and won the English Amateur in 1982, turning professional after playing for Great Britain & Ireland in the 1983 Walker Cup. Oldcorn was medalist at the European Tour final Qualifying School in 1983. He had a steady start to his career on tour before being struck down with ME (also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) in the early 1990s. He returned to form in 1993, to claim his first tour victory in the Turespana Masters Open de Andalucia. Away from the tour he also won the Sunderland of Scotland Masters. Several solid years followed along with another title, the 1995 DHL Jersey Open.
