George Blackwood
George Henry Raymond Blackwood (born 4 June 1997) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a striker. Born in Sydney, Blackwood played youth football for APIA Leichhardt Tigers before making his professional debut for Sydney FC in 2014. Blackwood has represented Australia at under-20 and at under-23 level. Early life Blackwood was born to British parents and grew up in Berowra, New South Wales. He attended Asquith Boys High School. Blackwood has two younger brothers and is a cricket fan. Club career Early career Blackwood spent a month training at Colchester United in 2013 after winning a scholarship award in Australia. ''The World Game'' was an Australian football (soccer) television show broadcast on the SBS network, as well as a dedicated associated website. The show debuted in 2001 and was the only Australian TV programme dedicated to both football news and issues within Australia as well as around the world. 2017 FFA Cup Final
The 2017 FFA Cup Final was the 4th final of the premier association football knockout cup competition in Australia. The match was held at Allianz Stadium, as determined by Football Federation Australia (FFA), making it the first FFA Cup Final hosted in Sydney. Melbourne City were the defending champions, however they were defeated 2–0 by Sydney FC in the quarter-finals. Sydney FC went on to defeat South Melbourne in the semi-finals to make their second FFA Cup Final appearance. Adelaide United defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 2–1 in the semi-finals to also make their second FFA Cup Final appearance. The 2017 FFA Cup was the fourth season of the FFA Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. 32 teams began competing in the competition proper (from the round of 32), including the 10 A-League teams and 21 Football Federation Australia (FFA) member federation teams determined through individual state qualifying rounds, as well as the reigning National Premier Leagues Champion (Sydney United 58 from NSW). Penalty Area
The penalty area or 18-yard box (also known less formally as the penalty box or simply box) is an area of an association football pitch. It is rectangular and extends 16.5m (18 yd) to each side of the goal and 16.5m (18 yd) in front of it. Within the penalty area is the penalty spot, which is 11m (12 yd) from the goal line, directly in-line with the centre of the goal. A penalty arc (often informally called "the D") adjoins the penalty area, and encloses the area within 9.15m (10 yd) of the penalty spot.
