It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues (APL). Alex Wilkinson
Alexander William Wilkinson (born 13 August 1984) is an Australian international football (soccer) player who plays as a central defender and is the captain for Sydney FC in the A-League. Wilkinson was born in Sydney and made his senior debut for Northern Spirit in 2002. After moving to Ryde City Gunners and Manly United in 2004, Wilkinson joined A-League club Central Coast Mariners, where he eventually became club captain and made over 200 appearances. After spending time in China on loan to Jiangsu Sainty, Wilkinson played for Korean club Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors for 4 seasons (2012–2015). David Carney
David Raymond Carney (born 30 November 1983) is an Australian former association football midfielder and who is incoming coach for 2023 season NPL NSW side Wollongong Wolves FC. Born in Sydney, he began his playing career with the New South Wales Institute of Sport before moving to England to join Everton. Having failed to break into the Everton first team he then moved to Oldham Athletic, Halifax Town and Hamilton Academical in Scotland before returning to his native Australia. After a successful spell with Sydney FC in A-League, Carney then returned to England, signing with Sheffield United before spending time with Norwich City on loan and eventually moving to the Netherlands to play for Twente. George Timotheou
George Christos Timotheou (born 29 July 1997) is an Australian football player who plays as a centre-back for Gungahlin United. He last played professionally for Melbourne Victory. Club career Timotheou started his professional career at Sydney FC, but never managed to break into the first team, instead playing in their reserve squad in the NPL. However halfway through his two-year contract, he left the club to sign for Sydney Olympic FC, where he made 27 appearances, during his 2 seasons there, before leaving to sign a deal with Bundesliga club Schalke 04. Alex Jason Brosque (; born 12 October 1983) is an Australian former professional footballer who was the captain of A-League club Sydney FC. He played primarily as a striker but played predominantly as a midfielder in central midfield during his time in Japan. Club career Brosque was born in Sydney, Australia, to Uruguayan parents, who migrated to Australia in the 70s. Aaron Robert Calver (born 12 January 1996) is an Australian professional football (soccer) player who plays as a defender for Gwangju FC.
