George Athans (diver)
George Athans Sr. (4 January 1921 – 27 February 2007) was a Canadian diver. He was born in Kelowna, British Columbia, and was the father of Gary Athans. He competed at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, where he placed 25th in 10 metre platform. Diving is the sport of jumping or falling into water from a platform or springboard, usually while performing acrobatics. Diving is an internationally recognized sport that is part of the Olympic Games. In addition, unstructured and non-competitive diving is a recreational pastime.
