Geoffrey Ricardo
Geoffrey Ricardo (born 1964) is an Australian contemporary visual artist whose work focuses on his sculpture and printmaking practice. Biography Ricardo was born in Melbourne, Australia. He is known for his Figurative work that centres around a narrative language, Ricardo works primarily in sculpture, printmaking, etching, lithography, & painting. Ricardo was the winner of the 2009 Lorne Sculpture Exhibition. He has been a regular artist in residence at the ''Art Vault'' Mildura, along with other artists such as Mike Parr, Rick Amor, Rona Green, Tony Ameneiro and Heather Shimmen. Rick Amor (born 3 March 1948 ) is an Australian artist and figurative painter. He was an Official War Artist for Australia. Life and work Rick Amor was born in Frankston, Victoria, Australia. He has a certificate in art from the Caulfield Institute of Technology, and Associate Diploma in Painting from the National Gallery School, Melbourne. /sup> He began exhibiting at the Joseph Brown gallery in 1974 and has shown annually at Niagara Galleries since 1983. Amor has entered the Archibald Prize at over 10 times and been exhibited nine times. Heather Shimmen
Heather Shimmen (born 8 November 1957) is a contemporary Australians, Australian visual artist whose paintings, prints and collages often use sinister historical imagery from 16th to 19th century. Biography Shimmen was born in suburban Melbourne in 1957, and exhibited an early interest in drawing. One pivotal life experience occurred when she was 14 and visited Papua New Guinea (PNG) with her family. Her parents had entered into a partnership in a farm 60 miles up the Markham Valley out of the town of Lae in the North West of PNG. She saw and met, for the first time, tribe, tribal people and saw first hand very confronting body piercing, tattooing and scarification. She studied art at RMIT University, including a brief stint with printmaker George Baldessin. Tony Ameneiro (born 1959 London, UK arrived Australia 1968) is an Australian contemporary visual artist whose work focuses around his drawing and printmaking practice. Biography Ameneiro was born in London in 1959 to Spanish parents and emigrated to Australia in 1968. He studied at the Alexander Mackie College of Advanced Education 1979–1981. During his time at art school, he met Graeme Synold and together they formed the Post-punk group, Tablewaiters in 1980.
